'Fighting is Magic' in fanmade My Little Pony fighter

Indie developer 'Mane6' is fulfilling brony dreams with an unofficial My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fighting game, made in 2D Fighter Maker. MLP: Fighting is Magic is simultaneously one of the cutest and most uncomfortable things we've seen, with six adorable cartoon horses kicking the adorable cartoon hell out of each other.

The first version will have playable versions of Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack and Pinkie Pie, with 11 more to follow in DLC. There's currently no release date on this project, but if you want to help the team finish, it's looking for voice talent now.

Don't really get all of the excitement over the series but this game surprisingly doesn't look at all that bad...

Not a brony, but just came here to say that I giggled at the thought of a fan game having DLC.

Well, since it's a fan game, I don't think the DLC will actually cost anything. You know, copyright infringement and all that. It's probably more like the full game is released (polished up everything), and then they work on more characters.

I don't get the obsession people have with this show, but that game does look pretty well-put together (Even if it's only showing 1 character at the moment).

I like the show and the creative stuff the fans make (like that fighting game) but man, these guys are obnoxious weirdos.

This is the same thing. THe only difference this time is it's a typically girl-focused, marketing-focused, asinine degrading stupefying tripe series, and it's got a male fanbase. This time around it's NOT girl-focused, marketing-focused (well, it is, but the show isn't like "WOW LET'S GO TO SWEET APPLE ACRES PLAYSET"), and it's not asinine degrading stupefying tripe.

Plus it's just got a huge remix community (both art and music) that really drives it.

If you can understand that tons of adults love Spongebob more than their kids do, surely you can understand that tons of adults love this show.

It's a show for little kids, it's obviously not your target audience. Grow up.

I'm not a Brony... just adjacent to one, but as I recall it all started with the fact that People were remixing trailers with the characters, the show had enough actiony scenes to fit many situations fairly well. it worked so well that people said you could mix MLP with anything at some point some mocked up a fake fighting game image and the idea stuck. Enough fans loved the idea for someone with coding skill to actually want to try it.

Put it on psn and xbla and I will buy the shit out of it.

Surprisingly well animated. Not sure how alpha or beta this build is but it could use some variety in the moves and maybe a different theme (persona) for each character instead of a palette swap.

@n1ner6er The character fighting is the only one they've gotten far enough with to demo. The pallette swap is the exact same character, but a pallette swap. Just like in...every...other fighting game ever? It's not a separate character, teh video is the same one fighting itself.

Freaking awesome. Please put this on Wii so I can get it for my niece. She would love this. Also, it would be cool if they added characters from Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, and Strawberry Shortcake. Just make it the most adorable fighter ever.
