It looks like a cool game.. its just too bad Im getting a little bored of shooters. Give me a shooter like this.. open world.. MMO, RPG... that will be fun. DONT say borderlands.. Not talking about that. Even though i did enjoy the first one. Messy Item slots.. but other then that.. fun game.

Yeah its somewhat laughable... The whole trust aspect seems kinda goofy.

So.. we're talking about a quite cool looking FPS with the most annoying teammate AI in the world ever.

i had never heard of this. a little metropolis mixed with blade runner stirred in irobot. too bad it seems to lack the inspiration of the stories its copying.

During the first few scenes I was expecting some kind of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" meets Mass Effect 2, but the trust system in this looks really odd. I can see how they wouldn't run to the frontlines or perform risky actions if they don't trust you, but refusing to shoot altogether just seems like an artificial barrier that wouldn't work in any media but videogames. Pretty much like "You aren't even fully equipped
yet! How do you think you're going to help the Great Deku Tree without both a sword and shield ready?".
Although maybe it's just the actual dialogue lines that are timed poorly and don't really fit the situation and thus just don't feel organic. I don't know.

So in the middle of a life or death gun battle your elite squad members are going to be questioning your decisions and even refusing to take orders? Yeah really believable lol.

Squad-based, consequences, trust/loyalty, possible romance. Yeah, this game sounds and plays a lot like Mass Effect with a heavy-Vanquish vibe.
Now that I think about it, I hope they put the ARS Suit as a secret unlock.

Judging from the voice acting they all are.
I'm really sick of developers not making any efforts to put proper acting in their games. I stopped playing Arkham Asylum after an hour because of this problem, even though I hear the game is not bad.
Give me Uncharted quality acting and you got most of the immersion taken care of.

Really? I consider Mass Effect and Bioware games in general to have some of the best voice acting in the industry. I mean with the amount of characters in the game its surprising how good the voice acting is.
Maybe I've just played some games with truly underwhelming voice acting like FF13, Gears of War 3, and Oblivion (mostly due to there only being about 12 voice actors).
Why do you think Mass Effect's voice acting is bad?

I never played LA Noire. The concept doesn't really appeal to me.
As far as Arkham Asylum, the only voice acting I liked in it was Joker's.

So, its exactly like mass effect and the plot similar to The thing but with robots.
Posted: Oct 8th 2011 5:13PM alucard3000 said
@Liquidmark He said "The Thing" because of the squad trust mechanics, where you had to keep an eye on them and how they were acting or else they would freak out if you didnt calm them down etc.

I can't wait until my whole squad start telling me how much I suck. It'll be like paying COD!

I think "paying" COD works too given the way Activision wants you paying money for the game, then the DLC, and on top of that stat-tracking (which every other game does for free. So to "play COD" you gotta "pay" COD, so I think you were right to begin with :D

I find it kind of silly that in the middle of a war against robots and a fight for survival their trust gets thrown off by some goofy comments.
"I don't care if there are 5 giants killing machines shooting at us, I'm not going to cover you because you called me sweet cheeks!"
Japanese studios need to work on their acting and writing

So, exactly how many different game, movie and other trailers are going to keep using songs by Two Steps From Hell?
The most recent Star Trek movie used the song "Freedom Fighters", Mass Effect 2 used "Heart of Courage", that awful Tekken movie trailer used "Am I Not Human?", this trailer uses "Black Blade", some crappy cell phone commercial used "Invincible"...
I mean, I dig the music, but these guys are total whores with it. :P

A good idea executed horribly. How much better would this be if they didn't talk back? Instead of getting a biotchy on you, they could simply not comply fast enough, or tell you upfront they aren't going to follow orders, and are here to do it their way.
And the dippy minigame of multitasking shooting while hitting the Great Job button is hilarious. It's like this game is designed by robots, based on whatever they Googled about the complexities of "emotions" and "teamworks" among those mysterious meatbags.
