I've heard the saying shaving away the years, but by the Gods... he went from old man/the missing link to... Robin Williams, circa Hook.

Damn right, he's the man! >:D

By the way...for those shocked about RW shaving his beard. Come on guys. If I know anything about Robin Williams is that he grows hair like a chia pet.

That beard will be back in less than an hour...45 minutes tops.

Apparently the alternative was if Zelda lost, she had to get a triforce tattoo.

She was named after the fictional Zelda of the game franchise no less.

Hence Robin Williams and his faithful beard being in these commercials.

and then she'll end up being an eccentric rich girl who marries a author that writes tons of famous books

and in 80 years a game developer will name the princess of his virtual reality adventure game after her.

Kind of cool that they bothered to make a TV ad (with Robin and Zelda Williams, no less) for a game they're not going to make any money from directly.

Why is the attached game info for this post about Four Sword Adventures for GameCube?

Obviously Robin Williams loves Zelda[game] hence his daughter's name[Zelda], so I'm sure he doesn't care if he makes money off of it.

I think nintendo probably cares about making money, as they're a business and all. Plus, they pay for the commercial. So, ya.

His son is called Ganondorf.

Something fishy about the ending, it's like they filmed him without the beard months later in a different location, and the back we see when they show 'Zelda' isn't actually him, but a stand in. I guess he had to keep the beard for a movie or something at the time they filmed the first bit, but filmed her at the same time. Maybe it is really him, but still with a beard.

Or maybe he never really had the beard and it was a fake. Maybe the beard never really existed and was just a figment of all of our imaginations put there by Robin himself. He pulled the greatest trick on man that was ever pulled, he convinced the world that his beard did exist.

You may not believe in Robin's beard, but his beard believes in you.

Robin William's was a customer of mine back in the 80's when I worked at one of the first computer gaming shops in Manhattan (pre-GameStop). I remember selling him Archon on the Atari 800 computer, after giving him demo. His words when we saw it "Oh my God, it's chess on acid!".

I have to say that was a cute ad, I've had a lifelong love/hate relationship with Robin Williams (grew up on Mork and Mindy but some of his stuff in his "artistic" phase is just disturbing.) Gotta say though, always respected the dude. Always marched to his own drum.
