Mario & Sonic go to Europe in a blue Wii bundle

In honor of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Nintendo announced plans to launch a special blue Wii bundle in Europe this November. Despite the Sonic theme, the system (one of the new-model, GameCube-free Wiis) is a lighter blue than the hedgehog. It will include the game, a matching Wii Remote Plus, and likely a Nunchuk in the same color.

When Nintendo announced the new Wii configuration back in August, it suggested that other bundles would be on the way. We don't think it would only have been referring to this one -- which means we should look forward to more variants in Europe this holiday. We should also look forward to colossal sales from this game, as always!

Wow that's... ugly.

Nintendo Wii - Published by SEGA... It seems kind of odd.

(And yes, I know it's the game that is published by SEGA)

Seriously, time travel back fifteen years and say to someone: "In 2011, we will have these pocket-sized fast and fluid touch-screen devices more powerful than your current computer by an order of magnitude and wirelessly connect to a far richer version of the internet than what you have at any time and almost any place, and Sonic and Mario are standing side-by-side on the box for a Nintendo gaming console", and they'd find the second fact far more shocking, intriguing, and/or unbelievable.

Just look at that crap. It has 'advertising agency' written all over it. Instead of one person with sense, they get a bunch of overpaid coke addled nobends into a room to come up with some groupthink 'jazzy, sassy, exciting, y'know, like London' piece of dump. National embarrassment.

It still makes me kinda annoyed that when the wii first announced years ago they displayed 4 colors and then only released white and then the black and red were like special editions 2+ years later. And now again for blue. And they still never released the best color: Lime Green!

Look at that thing. It looks like a Fisher Price toy box. No sane, social, attractive, extroverted adult would be caught carrying this monstrosity out of a Best Buy, unless there was a 4 year old next to them.

Eh, I wish the blue was a bit darker but it does look snazzy.

But then this is one of those models with no backcompat or controller ports so it's a bit useless, really.
