We are so, so not into ordering a Nintendo 3DS Expansion Slide Pad, but you may very well be. Here's hoping you also live in Japan, as the device is currently available for pre-order on Amazon in its country of origin. As previously revealed, the Slide Pad launches in Japan on December 10 for just ¥1,500 ($19.50) and works with several 3DS titles. Oh, and if you really wanna grab one and you live somewhere outside of Japan, Play-Asia's got you covered.
Of course, if you're the kind of person who's counting the days until Monster Hunter Tri-G launches, you've already pre-ordered the bizarre attachment, haven't you? You can tell us, it's okay.

Nothing like a portable that can't fit into your pocket!

@mguniverse Are you kidding? The battery life alone on both the 3DS and Vita is pretty disappointing. That, and I'd never risk carrying my PSP 3000 in my pocket loose anyways with the fragile stick.:P

Too bad the Vita is still bigger than the 3DS with this Attachment.
I guess everything is going bigger..

Just wait until you're sterile. Then you'll have a problem.

Problem? Sterile? You must be confused. Sounds like a blessing.

@OrangeGamer Wow, downvoted because I like my PSP. Ah well, still not carrying that thing ANYWHERE without the case in my purse. Much safer.

I must seriously be in the minority that the 3DS cramps my hands. So does my PSP, but luckily, I have a pretty nice controller grip for the PSP. This may help some, but I dunno.

@OrangeGamer As a man who has worked in Pharmacy for the last 9 years I must tell you about this wonderful drug to avoid cramping. It's called bananas. Up the potassium in your diet and I guarantee your cramps will at least be less severe. That and drink more water.

Bananas and water won't fix "Nintendo Thumb" style cramps. It's something you just have to train your muscles with from repetition.
But I'm with you. Original DS cramped my hand, GBA cramped my hand, PSP Go cramps my hand, and 3DS cramps my hand. Getting an attachment to fill it out for the GBA made it go away. Getting a DSi made it go away. No solution for the go or 3DS yet, was waiting for this nub to decide if I wanted to get this or a battery extension that doubled as an extension grip

@InDurdenWeTrust What the cool mushroom said. I eat plenty of bananas and drink only water, juice, and tea- so I think it's just some gaming hand hurting, there. Not like leg spasms you get at night and the like. Thanks anyhow though.:D

Preorder? You'd think people would want to prolong the inevitable POS, not welcome it early.

But why wouldn't we all rush out to pre-order something that has been touted as totally optional, only of one or two games and never ever going to be part of a redesign.
I'm really starting to think if I looked up SNAFU in the dictionary the 3DS nub would be pictured below.

We don't need to pre-order...this isn't the 3ds redesign we're looking for...Ok, move along!

What I find odd is that nobody pointed out that the slide pad attachment seems to only come in black.
So much for that red and white system for the MH3G bundle.

Actually I always thought the Genesis model 2 with a 32x always looked like a really short Star Destroyer. Quite fitting for 32x Star Wars, to be honest.

Since the 3DS is region-locked, can the JPN attachment be used on a US 3DS?

Am I the only person that actually enjoys the 3DS the way it is? Apart from the terrible lineup, I mean? Anyone? Bueller?
Personally, I don't want any kind of homogeneity between the 3DS and Vita. Developers built around the inherent limitations of the original DS and made some damned fine and unique games whereas the PSP delivered a more console-like experience. Both were great systems. What's wrong with round 2 of that all of a sudden?
If Nintendo didn't completely botch the release of the system, no one would be whining about revisions and second analog sticks. We'd all be playing games. To me, hardware-wise (emphasis there), the 3DS is every bit as attractive as it was on announcement day before Nintendo ****ed everything up with exorbitant prices and no games.

Won't be touching a 3DS until a full fledged re-design comes around. Having this atrocity on the beauty of a 3DS is such a train wreck. I still am amazed that they actually went thru with this and are actually selling it. I will make sure to /lol at anyone I see with this eyesore on their 3DS.

You know...it's just an accessory. It's not like Nintendo is grafting it to your dick or doing something inhuman to your face.
Lighten the f#ck up. It's just a videogame system.

@Theneverendingsoda It's hardly been stellar but it's far too early to judge Nintendo's performance in this generation irght now.
Remember the PS3 back in 2007? Giant Enemy Crab, $500 price point, bizaare marketing, "PS3 has no games" etc.

The thing is it looks like Nintendo regrets for not putting a second circle pad.Because if I am correct a lot of games will use the the attachment.I mean the 3DS looks fine the way it is,but of course if we did not see the 3DS before they should have included a second one.

Once the JRPGs, platformers, dungeon crawlers and puzzle games start coming out, people will be like "second stick what?" I love the 3DS the way it is and I'm probably not getting this unless it makes a huge improvement to Monster Hunter or Kid Icarus.

Posted: Oct 11th 2011 6:40PM OrangeGamer said
Let's go for two downvoted posts.
People who say the slider is ugly, etc, etc: No one is making you buy it, and it's what? $15? That's a night of eating at a sit-down restaurant with tip. And like I said, you don't have to buy it.
I mean, I don't like half the Wii Periphs, but luckily, I don't have to buy them either.:P
