Too bad they are not really making anything new or important for the NDS anymore, everything is going to be for the 3ds, even with those awful numbers..... :(

@Hunter141072 True as that may be, I can appreciate a milestone. Look at ps2. Can't say thats shabby at all either.

I am also not a 3ds fan though, but thats my personal taste.

Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 were released rather recently. Not to mention Professor Layton and the Last Specter is going to be released next week. It's not exactly dead. Just making a transition. (which involves lots of crap releases with hidden gold)

All the free games are crap. Their games from 15 years ago and they look and play horrible. I wanted to like my 3DS but it's just a waste of money.

too bad those games are more the swan song, than a real prove that nintendo wants to support a 50 million units console.....

@Hunter141072
? ... I understand that sentiment about the Wii.
But the DS had a VERY good run. From start (well, 6-8 months after its start) to finish (or nearing finish) it has had solid games.
Maybe not all of them were well advertised, nor were they for every type of gamer - but they were solid and fun nonetheless.

Maybe not fully endorsed by Nintendo, but developers definitely weren't hindered within it. ...unlike the Wii, which was strangely discouraging as much as it was encouraging to try new things for developers. Had a good run (except for the utter silence known as 2011), but these last games definitely are swan songs.

I would like to see the breakdown per version. Seems like the DS Lite may have sold more than any of the others

The DS will continue to sell. The 3DS is to the DS as the Virtual Boy was to the GameBoy.

The 3DS is perfectly good hardware with a terrible lineup. The Virtual Boy was a glaucoma test with a terrible lineup.

I prefer the design of this over my DSi. It's neater, I think. I like the DSi's larger screen but not the shorter battery life.

Yeah, looking at the picture I have to agree. The original DS is a snazzy piece of kit. Especially in black.

Because people obviously buy 500$ phones to play short games that you could find on the internet for free. /sarcasm

Seeing that DS lite in the picture, I regret selling my silver one.
It had these Guitar Hero stickers that I had arranged in a pattern I was very proud of... And I sold it...
I thought I would get at least two or even three 3DS games for it, since I sold some DS games as well.
I only got one; SSFIV.
Damn you, GameStop!

Never sell anything to Gamestop. You are guaranteed to get ripped off. Sell your games and consoles via amazon, ebay, craigslist, etc. You'll get a lot more.

The worst part is that I got only €50 for, while GameStop actually HAD an ongoing offer that stated that they would pay 80€ for DS lite's. They even got a poster about it in the very store I was in.
Gosh...

I absolutely hated the matte finish on my black DSi- so much in fact that I had to sell it. While it didn't collect finger prints, the texture was cringe inducing (for me). In its place I bought a DSi XL- the gloss made everything better.

Because it isn't the 3DSlite yet.

...but it IS far more beautiful than the original DS design. Which is nice.
(I think it looks gorgeous in white)
