Frank West can be Proto Man in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
17
There's a surprise lurking in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record that is most decidedly not undead -- Proto Man! You can unlock Proto Man's outfit, shield and a working arm cannon through a series of steps so strangely complex that we're shocked anyone figured this easter egg out at all.
Apparently you can snag the boots no problem, but to get the shield and blaster you have to beat the game with an S rank, medal in all 30 challenges, defeat Jack in a game of poker at the safe house, and then start that file again (not a new game), htka of GameFAQs posted. Or you can just watch the above video and pretend you're controlling Proto Frank West Man. You can even make your own sound effects. We won't tell anyone.
If you'll remember, there was a similar unlock in Dead Rising, but it was bluer.

Instead of beating Jack at poker for the helmet, find him in the arena about an hour or so into sandbox mode, then kill him. That's how I unlocked the helmet, good since I don't do poker :)

Why didn't they just release this game? Dead Rising 2- Enter Proto Man.

After just playing an hour of Arkham Asylum challenge rooms beating up waves of thugs, it's hard to watch such sloppy, stilted animation.

well at least it's not charged DLC for the proto man skin.

I just noticed the imprint of 8-bit Mega Man on his boot. Awesome!

Is OTR just Frank West? Or does it also contain the original story with that other guy. Haven't played DR2 and i only just heard about OTR a day or two ago.

I wonder why all the unlockable cool stuff skipped over the original Dead Rising 2.
There was no good reason to get all the Achievements in Dead Rising 2. In Dead Rising 1 you could get the Real Mega Buster and in OTR you can get all this cool stuff.

Dead Rising 2 actually had Arthur's suit from Ghouls n Ghosts as the unlockable. You had to wear the armor, the helmet, the beard and the boots, and once you had them all, your health bar turned silver and your first few hits in an area didn't hurt you. After a few hits your health bar would start flashing, and if you got hit anymore, all your armor would shatter and you'd be left in your heart boxers.
