I would prefer to buy the PC version - but now I'll have to wait for reviews to make sure that it's worth the hassle of Games For Windows Live.

The first one was awesome with that stupid GFWL.....so, no problem at all...even though i hate GWFL i don“t think it affects the real quality of the game.

I only have one other game that uses GFWL and I've never been able to play it because GFWL does NOT work. The game is Dawn of War 2 on Steam.

However I recently built an (awesome) new rig so I tried GFWL again last night and it seemed to work. It still scares me though.

It's not worth the hassle just for achievements and friend lists - I already have that in Steam.

Shouldn't need to.

The only way Warner Bros. will learn not to use GFWL is if nobody buys the PC version of Arkham City. So I may well have to (not) "take one for the team".

The problem is how unneccesary it is. I own Dawn of War 2 and Arkham Asylum on Steam. And yet, I have to launch them through Steam, to launch G4WL. We already have enough goddam DRM programs, G4WL being the hands down least useful currently, we don't need it.

@b3n nah they'll just attribute it to PC users being dirty pirates and put even more invasive DRM in GFWL.

I hope the extra time means it's as good a PC port as the original game was.

Seriously, how many console-to-PC ports do you know of that actually changed the equipment layout to properly align with the number buttons?

I imagine it has something to do with piracy as well. If the people who planned to pirate day 1 suddenly had the choice to wait a month extra to play or just buy it on a console and get it over with, a lot will pick up a console version if they don't game exclusively on a PC.

Of course it has to do with piracy. They are hoping that enough people will go "ZOMG must play day one!" and actually, you know, PAY to do it.

Or they'll just pirate it for the console they play on. if they are really set on stealing it, it being on console isn't going to solve that, Arkham City for 360 has been available on torrents sites for almost a week now. If they are set on stealing it for PC, waiting a month isn't going to solve that. How would it? Using this reasoning, and the delays that PC release seems to get (generally, certainly not always) then piracy should be slowly squelched out, and there is nothing that indicates that's the case.
Again, if they were doing this for the reasons of piracy it would be as silly as draconian DRM, the only people being punished would be the paying customers, not the pirates, who aren't your customers.

The Delay has everything to do with the PC just being lower priority for WB, so the finalizing of that version comes later.

OR pcs are much more complicated to port to, even with direct x.

Well I'll likely be running it on medium, my 4650 could just about do arkham asylum on high. Its tough in africa man, real tough.

Any word on the min spec yet?

Sure guys, bring it out a week after Skyrim... that's a great idea. At least it'll give you a chance to ponder why you are not selling a single copy of the PC version :o)

This game would have been a good one to pass the time until Skyrim... now, it's a no buy. A business decision for the history books.

I thought the target was males between the ages of 5 and 45 with access to money.

Batman's the smarter day one purchase for my money. Let Skyrim sit a month or two. Let those Bethesda bugs get worked out. Let the mod community create better looking female models, amirite?

Worse than feared. Only WB could be this stupid. Even Ubisoft have made their delays less in recent months.

They originally wouldn't say what the date was. They then let slip in an interview the delay would be a 'couple of weeks'.

People feared this meant 3 weeks.

It's 4 weeks.

Combine this with the pre-order BS. The too many reveals of characters and weapons. The Catwoman pass, and the fact the pass isn't even working properly for a lot of legitimate consumers! It's an incredible shambles on all levels. The story isn't the game, it's how badly it has been marketed.

Preorder BS? You mean getting 1 piece of DLC for free depending on which retailer you use and getting the rest in $7 packs? I'm glad it's DLC, a lot of companies don't bother releasing the retailer stuff at all.

I really wish companies that made console games for PC would take it as a serious platform. I'm getting it on PC because a co-worker had a second copy of the game and gave it to me. But it goes to show you that PC is an after thought if they didn't bug test it at the same time as the other platforms. They're like "it's okay it's only the PC release we'll get around to it."

Well we are getting some cool extras: DX 11 renderer, Tessellation, higher rez textures, Physx (volumetric fog, tons of physics driver objects to fill out the scene - debris, trash, broken tiles/bricks etc).

But I'm very jealous of console gamers right now.

Console gamers, let us PC guys live vicariously through you!

How is it!?
