You get hit by paintballs? That's...actually a really cool idea! Couldn't help but laugh at the "YOU AIM...YOU FIRE" text though.

It's so realistic, your legs will get stuck in the ground after 3 minutes of playing.

IT'S JUST A JOKE, PEOPLE.

The omni directional treadmill is the biggest innovation...

It solves the big problem of...how would someone move without actually moving....

@T24

do marines and army personnel in the field strafe in a real life gunfight? i've always wanted to know if they do. running/jogging while shooting is, though.

@balbonits Soldiers are trained to shoot as the move if they have to, in general, just as you would assume, you don't want to move when shooting because you are far less likely to hit anything. As for calling it 'strafing', I think that is just a video game usage. Strafing's original definition is "To attack with a machine gun or cannon from a low-flying aircraft."

@nandokun

i see, but i'm actually concerned about the
"walking sideways (like a crab) while shooting a rifle (M4, AK47) or a shotgun (pump-action, AA-12)" part. can they really do that? i haven't fired a gun all my life, so i sometimes do question if the "realism" that games add, are they at least accurate to a person who has experienced it in real life?

@balbonits Don't know for certain. I would imagine, if you are shooting while walking sideways, it is in order to get into cover. I don't think you'd ever see this on a real live battlefield:

maybe the treadmill comes to a halt, then on the direction of the stab, a bamboo stick coated with paintball paint slaps you from there. sonds like a painful way to "die", right?

that'll teach you not to camp for too long on one spot. :D

I wonder if it realistically handles jumping out of the ground when you're stuck, jumping up and down like an idiot hoping for salvation but it never comes.

EA is quite peculiar on who it will let review BF3, it would seem:

It seems that everyday DICE is publishing more and more about BF3. And it seems that everyday I grow more and more tired of it. BF3 is like that annoying kid in grade school who would always raise his hands to answer eery question. "Oh! Oh! Look at this gameplay! Isn't it awesome! And it would be even more awesome if you had this tech!"

I stand by my statement that BF3 isn't a BF title based on the gameplay from the beta. No not the bugs, but the core gameplay. I didnt experience any bugs in the 3 hours I tried the game out. And so I'm still waiting on the true sequel to BF2.

@PeteZahutt Possibly they looked at the low sales of BF2 and the high sales of BF:BC2 and decided to go with a single character at a time FPS rather than the switch characters approach. Also makes it easier to create a story for people to get immersed.

I actually invented this type of simulator in my head, although the treadmill type floor is significantly different. So every time i see some technology news related to an invention of mine that i have not patented, prototyped, or developed in any way due to having insufficient funds and knowhow, i get incredibly angry. This has happened to me on no fewer than three occasions. probably many more. Well i guess it validates my ideas, but it is annoying that i don't have money/spare time/a large house in America to do all my crazy ideas. ARRRRRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
