I might just be ignorant, but isn't Monster Hunter Freedom Unite just an updated, expanded version of MH Freedom 2? In that it already contains all the content that was in its predecessor? What's the point of owning Freedom 2, then, if you have Unite?

@Willzyx I was thinking the same thing. I haven't played both, but I have a friend who is bonkers for Monster Hunter and I distinctly remember him telling me that they were essentially the same game, but Unite had some expanded content. I also recall him telling me that his save from MHF2 would carry over so he wouldn't have to start over again. So if that's the case I'm fairly confused by this pack.

Seems to me this might be decent for people who have Freedom 2. You can give the bundled copy of Freedom 2 to a friend or significant other, do multiplayer with them, AND upgrade to Unite (thus showing off the snazzy new gear and tempting them to do the same).

Only thing is, the people who have Freedom 2 and are interested enough to get other people to play probably have Unite already.

If this deal was also offered on PSN; I would snatch it up to play upon the PS VITA. But since there's no word on a UMD reader for the VITA... well...

MegaMan powered up.was awesome. I thought for sure they'd take every megaman game in the same direction, but unfortunately it was just a one off. Missed opportunity and again megaman fans are let down.

Let down? I don't know, I as a Mega Man fan am kinda happy that I even got Powered Up and the X remake.
Plus the Metal Slug games and Castlevania SotN make the PSP my favorite remake machine already.

Agreed. Mega Man 2: Powered Up! is such a missed opportunity. I would have payed large sums of money if Capcom released it on Vita/3DS/XBLA/PSN/PSP/NDS/WiiWare/Steam/iOS/N64/PS2/Saturn/Amiga.

I'd be interested in the Mega Man pack, if the UMD drive on my PSP-3000 hadn't gone out, essentially turning it into a less-useful PSPGo. If they threw these up on PSN I'd be willing to bite.

The Monster Hunter bundle confuzzles me, as Unite is an updated version of Freedom 2. It's either a repackaging for people who missed it, or a compensation for the lack of recent MH titles outside Japan (from the point of view of an obviously shafted MH fan).

The Mega Man pack is amazing, but the Monster Hunter one is pointless. Just by Unite!

Is it possible to use the two Monster Hunter titles so that you and a friend can quest together via Ad-Hoc, using the two UMDs?
If so, it's actually pretty good value, especially if you split the cost with a pal.

@milespieri I'm not sure Freedom 2 is compatible with Freedom Unite, actually. You can carry over saves, but I don't think that's the same as trying to play with someone who has the other version.

I'm very tempted to pick up the Mega Man pack- heard good things about both of those titles.

Eh, Unite is just 2.5
MHF1 and Unite would have been a better idea.
