This doesn't sound like the price is even close to reasonable for what you get.

Really? I've never bought a game map pack in my life, and I'm seriously considering getting the season pass if the DLC reviews start looking good.

I didn't buy any Mass Effect DLC, because I thought 45 minutes of campaign for $7 was a ripoff. But if they are offering 3 hours of original story for $10 (with season pass), that seems manageable.

Yeah, considering that most map packs are $10 for 3, this is a pretty good deal (at least until the inevitable "complete" or "goty" edition comes out next year for $40).

Guys he's not talking about the price of the season pass, or the relative price of this DLC if you bought the season pass. He's talking about how this singular piece of DLC costs $15, and I agree that it's a bit high. I doubt the actual content will come in at 3 hours, and will more likely be from 2 to 3 hours depending on the difficulty you choose and personal skill. With that in mind, and even considering the extra stuff thrown in, I don't see it worth $15. If anything I think they inflated the price a bit to give people more of an incentive to buy the season pass.

But hey, as soon as I have the time and money (curse you midterms!!!) to buy some MS points, I plan on getting the season pass so the singular price of this DLC won't really affect me.

From what I have also read on Eurogamer, RAAM will play in a completely different mission.

So glad I haven't bothered with Gears of Wars games. I've put that in the pile of "games I'd buy but there's too much additional content to purchase so I'll spend 10% of that on something of equal or more fun or the developers deserve it more"

@Undulation You do know that you don't have to purchase the DLC, right? It's optional and isn't neccessary to enjoy the main campaigns. The first 2 games didn't even have campaign expansions, so if you played those, there would be nothing additional to purchase. Also, almost every game has DLC, these days. How do you play anything if you refuse to play games that have DLC?

I haven't bought any additional Gears content and the series is one of my favourites. You don't really need to buy anything but the games to enjoy Gears.

@MEGATOOL Gears 2 had a campaign extension.

And 7 new maps, coupled with another 12 if you didn't have them already. All for the whooping price of $20. That's good value.

And come to think of it... I'll wait for that value. If the season pass gets a special 20 dollar price, I'll probably get it.

@WeRequireMOARMinerals Woah. Gears 2 did have a campaign expansion? I didn't know that. How did that slip past me? I may have to check that out. It might give me something to do this week and tide me over until I have time to play Gears 3.

It's 3 hours of campaign and a bunch of superficial skins. If that's worth $15 to you, great. I can get some excellent Arcade titles for the same price, which to me is a better value for money proposition.

I'm not against DLC per se, as long as it's genuinely worth the money. 3 hours of story plus a bunch of skins that probably took very little time and cost very little money to make doesn't strike me as worth $15. As I SAID ABOVE, if it's worth it to you, great. Me, I'd rather spend the 1200 points on something like Radiant Silvergun, or BloodRayne, etc. I know perceived value is very subjective, but IMO, if you're charging a quarter of the price of the game new, it should have a lot more than a short story chapter and reskinned characters.

It was pretty much like a Brumak fight or, well, most of the enemies in Dark Souls...run around and wait for him to get snagged on the environment and exploit the hell out of it.

ahh, i know, the RAAM fight really was hard on Insane, but i felt like it was actually harder on co-op because of those damned bat things that follow RAAM around and insta-gib you or your partner at the most inopportune time, forcing you to restart the entire boss battle. undoubtedly the best tactic is the torque bow + sniper rifle combo.

Ugh, I got the season pass expecting a slew of multiplayer maps as the original 10 are already getting stale.

So far we're 0 for 2 out of our four promised DLC packs as far as MP versus maps that we can actually use.

One of the last two DLC packs had better include like 10 MP maps.

With the first two packs being packed with great content that caters to coop enthusiasts, single players enthusiasts, I got a feeling that the multiplayer maps map will be something much more than just maps in one of those packs. Something to really please multiplayer fanatics.

Well I gambled and got the season pass before any of the content was announced, which I know is quite a stupid idea, hence me saying it was a gamble. So far though I feel like my purchase has been justified with the first two announced add-ons. Hopefully the last two are as satisfying as well..

@ProfessorBonkle I with ya on that. Plus you it's not too common for games that are known for their multiplayer to have expansions on their campaigns. Usually games that are multiplayer centric only concentrate on the multiplayer for DLC. I just thought that was cool of them to do that.
