I'm annoyed at this from two perspectives: from the "trend" perspective, because yes, this is going to become a popular trend of games tagging on a "...:Cars 3 Edition". However, I take greater offense as an original Shrek fan. Nowadays, I hear it was too reliant on pop-culture and fart humor and overall dumb stuff, but to the 9-year-old me, it was a magical film; I could quote it line for line for a while. The fact that Dreamworks has been squeezing the franchise to death (this being the 5th movie in the Shrek-verse, and a PiB-centric one at that!) is immensely depressing to me. It seems that we can't have nice things for long in our capitalist society, because they make money and become bad things before too long.
