Sonic Generations dashes to 3DS November 22

We knew Sonic Generations was coming out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 1, but Sega has been quiet about the release window for the dual-screen, dual-hedgehog 3DS version.

Today, Sega dismissed the building rumors that Generations on 3DS had been delayed until next year. The publisher announced that the 3DS game (which has almost entirely exclusive content) is just a bit slower than its speed-obsessed console counterparts, and as a result it'll hit stores on November 22.

the Game seems like fun,i'm not sure how it'll look with 3D on.
but for $40 and extra content seems like the best version to get.

I played both demos of this on 360/PS3 and thought it was a total mess. The truly appalling frame rate destroys this before it even gets a chance.

If the best looking game this generation - RAGE - can run at 60fps, anything can.

Based on a demo of a game that is released in a couple of weeks. By now it would have gone gold master. The demo is what the final game will play like. Makes me very sad.

I won't deny that 60 fps would do wonders for the console version, but the game is still gorgeous and fun as shit. Hardly a "total mess"

@sweetbrother Some people can't perceive frame rate, unless it's very, very low. I guess, think yourself lucky, as for those of us for whom frame rate is very noticeable, 30fps in a side scroller generates a headache within minutes.

Fortunately back in the 16-bit days virtually every game was 60fps. Now, it's a rarity. Two steps forward, one step back.

I must have just missed the fun portion of the demo. Generations has to be the second biggest disappointment of the year for me so far.

You know what would be weird, if Bonk came out on the 3DS. 1990's mascots all on one system.

Ok I was thinking late 80s with Nintendo, Sega & NEC being the big 3, all with official mascots (later systems didn't have official mascots, just corporate branding)

I don't think NEC was ever a big anything. Not compared to Sega and Nintendo, at least.

The came out with the first psuedo-16-bit system, the first cd game system, the first expansion pack, they also had many systems before they bowed out of the race.

This will probably end up being the version that I get. Cheaper price with tailor-made content? Yes please. If I want the levels from the other platforms I'll just wait until it goes on sale on Steam.

It's Sonic; you don't need mind-blowing graphics to have fun playing Sonic.

I'm already getting the Collector's Edition on the 360, but I'm still very tempted to also get the 3DS version.

Yea, the super gimped version. Seriously, this is a sad looking title. I'll get the console version any day over this.

I played demos for both this and the console version.

The 3DS version was definitely the more enjoyable of the two.

i expected better graphics, if they cant do decent 2.5d i rather have full 2d game...

"HORRIBLE GRAPHICS. LOL." Why do people not understand that the reason it looks horrible is because they stretched the damn image!? Oh right...because asking for common sense on the internet would be asking for way too much.

Or it's because the textures poor, the polygon count on most of the objects other than Sonic are very low, there is no "behind the back" view of Sonic because they couldn't render the whole level ahead of Sonic like the console versions can, and maybe because the lighting is equally as horrible (seriously, Sonic doesn't even have a shadow).

Even in it's young, short life, I've seen much better graphics come from the 3DS than this. This screams rushed.

I'm not usually one to go with comments like yours, but I gotta agree. In fact, it looks photoshopped to look bad.
