Sonic 3D Blast is just old, not classic.

Sonic 3D Blast was the first Sonic game I owned (I played all the previous ones though before it came out). I had a lot of memories of it, but it did have its downsides. I still enjoyed the game, and I find it fun even today, it's just different from other Sonic games, which isn't a bad thing. Change is nice every now and then.

I've been rolling my eyes at "oh look another Sonic game", but I watched a level playthrough (Sky Sanctuary) on youtube and it looks genuinely FUN. Can't say I'll pre-order it, but I'll be looking very closely at reviews.

Sonic 3&K is definitely a great game worth playing.

Sonic 3D is a good game that I personally think is worth playing, but most people disagree with me. And even then, I wouldn't recommend the Genesis version Sega keeps rereleasing; the Saturn and PC versions have much better presentation, even if the core gameplay is intact (and all that that entails).

@Shadow Hog

The Saturn/PC version of 3D Blast at least had an amazing soundtrack going for it.

Pretty much my reasoning as well, but there's also the improved graphics and, at least in the PC version's case, saving that's going for it.

I always preferred the music to the Genesis/Mega Drive version. A few of the tracks were remixed for Sonic Adventure.

Sonic 3D Blast is not a blast to play.

*trollface*

I have all the Genesis Sonic games on my Wii (through the Virtual Console), so I have no reason to get them again.

The big problem I have with the 360 version, based on the demo, is the framerate. It's not a huge problem in the modern Sonic mode, but in classic Sonic mode, it's a killer. If you have a nice PC, that wouldn't be a problem... and it's WAY cheaper to boot? And you get Sonic 3 and Knuckles, the best Sonic game so far, for free?

totally agree....i want to see if i can somehow demo it on my PC, because that framerate on the 360 was terrible. with a game moving as fast as sonic...not good.

i really don't like 3D blast, it's the worst one in the series in terms of megadrive games, sonic 3 and knuckles is my favorite in the series.

oh and that is scandalous that steam is giving away all classic sonic games when the console versions are getting only sonic 1, ridiculous.

Calling 3D Blast a "classic" is a bit of stretch.
