I don't really care for Sonic 1 since I have it on my Xbox. I would like a smooth frame rate though. Sega if we can swap Sonic 1 for 60fps then please get in touch.

@Undulation Totally agree with this. I want so bad to love this game, but I couldn't get over the poor frame rate on the side-scrolling level in the demo. So visually choppy. Everything else about the game seems great. I guess jumping feels a bit stiff, but nothing I wouldn't be able to adjust to. I feel like that frame rate would eventually make me nauseous though.

Well depends on WHICH Samus we are dealing with. Prime/Original Samus? Oh yeah she'll have it done in like 5 minutes.
Other M Samus though...? We better prepare for the 20-minute monologue she'll be belting out about how it feels rolling into a ball, then wait til she gets half-way through the pipe stage before her boss gives her the OK to roll up.

I'm definitely keeping a close eye on Generations, but maybe I'll finally be happy when they can make a Sonic game in which the physics aren't broken, meaning the ground under Sonic isn't slippery like ice.

I love the original Sonic games. I've just recently bought a Mega Drive and the original games and have been enjoying playing them properly (none of this porting or emulation business).
Now that the full Generations demo is out on the Playstation Store, I checked it out and honestly, I really liked it - particularly the 3D gameplay.
The 2D level wasn't as good as the originals but it did play a lot better than the earlier demo that was released.
I still prefer the original games, but it's nice to know that the first Sonic will be unlockable. Maybe most people will have played it by now, but it's a damn good game and a nice unlockable.
