@CleanUndies Reason I'm not getting it because i don't got a good PC . Console version is like a happy meal where as the PC version is a triple whopper meal for the same price, so the console version is a rip off

Bummer! It's worth the wait though, 360 owners. I've been playing on PC all day and it's a blast! Look on the bright side, you didn't have to agree to Origin's EULA...

@Mcmax3000 I'm sorry, but you are playing a completely different game. The PC version has a web browser as it's server browser and you have to restart the game every time you join a new server. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable to force us to use a web browser as our server browser especially since I cannot use Nightly since they don't have x64 web browser support. No thanks.

@xyloPhipps Yea the game is a lot of fun on PS3 too, the servers are working fine there, but the mics and squads are 4 years back to BC1 quality. What a joke this game was released in this condition. This game is NOT on par with Call of Duty games in terms of release quality.

Well yeah....when you release the same game over and over again, year after year, you would hope all problems would be fixed about the third time around...

Okay, complaining about problems with voice chat I can understand, same with squad problems... but giving DICE a hard time because the 360 graphics aren't as good (as the PC graphics, presumably)? That's just the nature of the modern beast.

Agreed. I will now commence with a goat offering to EA so they may bring a speedy return to server activity. Just for good luck, i'll light a few candles and make a few markings all over my Xbox360. ...and a virgin maiden sacrifice wouldn't hurt.

@kmcroc Microsoft is at fault here. Microsoft makes a special exception to their rules and allows EA to manage their own servers. Every EA Battlefield game is plagued with server outages for the few weeks. I know this as fact because I've bought all of them and run into these issues. Microsoft also knows this, yet they still allow EA to run their own servers.

Xbox Live is up and running, so I don't know wtf you're talking about. Now EA's Servers on the Xbox side are down, but that has nothing to do with Microsoft. That's entirely EA's fault, though I'm willing to bet there's a lot more traffic on EA's Xbox servers, hence the issues.

Microsoft made an exception because they didn't have a choice. Remember, when EA threatened not to release their games on MS platforms if they couldn't use their own servers it was back in the early days of the 360. Back when MS was coming off the disappointing XBox and had all their eggs in the 360 catching on. EA games not being on the 360 would have been much more catastrophic to them than it would have been to EA, so EA strong-armed them into it.
Whenever that agreement runs out (presumably with the current generation of consoles), you can bet that EA likely won't be able to do this next time around as the Xbox brand is now established enough that EA can't afford to just pull all their releases from it.

played earlier & was completely addicted. but once these server problems came in it disappointed me. i thought the beta was made to be prepared to see if the servers could handle all these people. ugh.!!!

@EDZiLLUH that's not what a beta does. Beta looks for flaws in script not servers. They got a bandwidth overload. It happens to every game launch. Cod me2 had the same issue and halo reach

DICE's GM stated that the beta was mainly for server stress tests, so I'm not sure where you're getting your info from.

Haven't been able to play multiplayer since I picked up the game a few hours ago, but then again this seems to happen with every Battlefield game during the first week. Just once I'd like to buy a Battlefield game that doesn't have issues with online play.

Oh god... Ton of idiots on this site are going to blame this on the 360. Here's the deal that somehow some of you still don't know. EA got a special deal with Microsoft so that they could use their own servers instead of MS's. *Their* servers are down. Blame EA for being unprepared douchebags.
Posted: Oct 25th 2011 10:16PM nerdquest said
@blackangel209 Great to see someone who knows what they're talking about. EA, Sega and Take-Two hosts their own servers over Xbox Live. Hence, they also have the ability to shut them down at any time.
Their deals with MS enables them to refuse the release of any their games for MS platforms, unless they have full controll of their own servers.

@nerdquest Also means EA, Sega and 2K games (generally) have very poor ping and performance compared to Microsoft/other third party games. Less reliability too...Sega's are the WORST and Need for Speed games are usually nigh unplayable. Which is disappointing because Battlefield deserves more.
