Does anyone know if we can transfer out PSP save files to the PS3 version and play?

"On the PlayStation 3, the MGS and ZOE collections will include a "Transfarring" feature. In MGS, the feature allows users to transfer Peace Walker saves from the PSP to the collection. The new technology will also allow players to transfer file saves between the platforms to allow for play on the PSP at one moment and then "transfarring" the save to the PS3 to play the same save file on the television."

"Transfarring will only be available in Japan when Peace Walker releases in November, according to Konami's information packet from TGS 2011."

@Frostblade10 does that mean only JP ver of MGS:PW saved data can be transferred to the PS3 ver?? or this feature won't be introduced at all (no transfarring option in menu) in HD ver of other regions besides JP? that really sux if it's true. i've spent so much time in PW already

Presumably it means it will only be in the Japanese version due to some stipulation in MS's contracts that doesnt allow a game to be sold on the 360 if it doesnt contain the same content as a rival version. Thus with no portable Peace Walker to "Transfar" to on the 360, the PS3 version has to be hobbled to match. I would imagine Konami agreed as long as they could at least do it for Japan. On the other hand there's nothing to stop them from offering it in a patch later own after the game is released, so there's hope.

@Frostblade10 Had it said "Japanese PSP version" I would've thought it meant no cross-region transfarring, but..."Japanese PS3 version" only is pretty clear. Wow.

Quick, related hijack.
To people who have played Peace Walker: how much does the game spoil the twists and turns in MGS4? There's some fairly significant revelations in MGS4 about the identity of the Patriots, and if I wanted to get this HD collection for someone who still has to play MGS4, would they get any drive-by spoilers?

This is nitpicking, but if that's Peace Walker footage, it would be Big Boss, not Solid Snake.

@sporkgasm I see someone hasn't played Metal Gear Solid 3.

More nitpicking.
Peace Walker is rated T for teen.
Thus the video should not require a age gate on it.

I'm actually looking forward to this release. I've really been in the mood to replay the Metal Gear Solid series in HD! Now I just need to decide which system I should get it on. 😄

If I didn't know anything about MGS, I would think that this game is a soldier-kidnapping simulator.
I am okay with this.

I'm already kind of close to finishing. I think I stopped at the 90% point and then never went back.

In what order should i play the series? 1,2,3,4?

@adr916
Chronologically if you want to make sense of the story. Or in any order if you cannot be bothered getting all the games.
I've never tried playing the series in chronological order, even though Snake Eater was my first MGS. It's the most recommended game to play.
Playing chronologically means getting the story straight. IMO, a game should always strive to be "a stand alone that's not a stand alone". Meaning the story welcomes newcomer, yet rewards veterans. MGS4 heavily relies on the series history and is not recommended to play first. Peace Walker had a great stand alone story :)

@Lucky48
Collecting and changing camo was a hassle in the first playthrough, that has to be noted.
But I feel once you start enjoying the experience, changing camo didn't matter because the gear/skills you get could dispatch/avoid enemies better. Then you don't need to camo stealth quite as much.
Hiding behind something or staying further away from patrols works just as well as being deadly close and camo stealth :)
I comment a little more below, but I certainly enjoyed replaying MGS3 :)

I'm skipping both BF3 and MW3 for this collection. I believe I made the right choice. :)
