I just want the squad chat function to work. Also to have the ability to get into a game as a squad.

When I bought BFBC2, I was very disappointed to see that it didn't support local servers being set up. I suppose that they are paying the price for that stupid policy...

@freelancer91

but then its a trend of this industry kill dedicated server so they can control everything... kill LAN and system link so we dont have an option to play this game with our friends via p2p.

Start adding online pass so only one user can connect per copy, if their its multiple users at home they have to spent extra money

The steps I had to take to keep my BF3 from crashing every 10 minutes in online multiplayer.

1 - Update every driver, from nvidia - windows
2 - Stop Origin, X-fire, Skype, or any IM service from running in the background
3 - Turn down the graphics, despite how my system can run them on high
4 - "Underclock" my factory overclocked graphics card back to the standard cards settings
5 - Close anything and everything running in the background.

Now my game crashes once ever few hours on average... This is not how you beat CoD: MW3 guys. I would have much rather waited for a polished product than waste 3 days figuring out work arounds and fixing errors.

Back to SC2 for me, this is nothing like BF2 was.

Doesn't Bad Company 2 still have a screwy server hitch? I remember playing and I would be kicked out every few games. And when I am playing a game, there can be some really awful rubber banding. And I only recently played in July.

All online games have issues upon launch, but for whatever reason a lot of gaming related websites are making a huge deal out of the issues that BF3 that is having. Probably because BF3 is the competition of CoD3 and any drama or story that can be conceived, will be. For clicks and traffic.

Don't get swept up in the sensationalism. BF3 online is fine and functional.

@iceveiled you have a very valid point. Is interesting to note that the article does not mention that PSN users are not having any problems at all. They should talk about the 2 sides of the coin.

Part of the problem is people like me who didn't bother picking up the beta once, but still got into the game day one. The beta was a good way for them to stress test their servers, but from what I hear they sold 2 million more copies than they ever had in the beta. Plus most people don't play betas as hard core as they would the final game, so there's more stress on the servers right there.

I've had some issues but like everyone has stated PC games for multiplayer always have some hitch to it at launch. While disconnects happen at least their doing something about it. It's not like how WoW Launched and no-one could play for a week.

I have been playing bf3 on my PS3 since launch and I have not confronted any conectivity issues. BF3 is running very well on PSN and I am having a great time playing bf3. I also have been using battlelog, I guess the connectivity issues are only part of xbox and pc platform.
