neat. I didn't realize that you don't need infamous 2 to play it. I thought it was an add-on.

Same here. Granted, I need to get off my ass and buy INFAMOUS2 since I really enjoyed the first game(still need to find the BGM from the credits)... but this now a "PSN must-buy" for me. :]

Wow! Surprising score! It's nice to see something like this get such a high score. Great review!

This is really great. Also the fact that you have access to the UGC tools makes it an even bigger steal.

Great review. Much better than that garbage one on IGN. I preordered it and have had it sitting on my PS3 for a few days now. Looking forward to starting it up.

@King Johngie the Fourth that is the reason why I quit looking on IGN website, there is a abviuos hate for ps3 on that site. I like reviews that are neutral and not fanboyish.

Ya, they're a schizo site if there ever was one. I definitely like lots of their articles and features, but the last thing they are is consistent.

hence the whole "fanboy" criticism.

looking forward to getting this add-on. knew absolutely nothing about it before reading this review but now it sounds like a must-have. going to have to find time to play it in-between sessions of Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 though :)

err, as far as IGN's reviews go, it's pretty obvious that they really pull punches with their ratings. there's no guess work as to what titles will score good and which ones will score bad, because they apparently just rate shit according to what people expect it to be rated. in other words, they have no balls.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, i hate IGN. i wish they didn't even exist. their unprofessional "journalism" is the worst i've seen in the videogame circuit or anywhere else for that matter. watching their videos makes this all the more apparent. bunch of trendy hipsters...thank god for the stiq.

If all you know about vampires is from Twilight, be prepared to have your mind blown.

I doubt that all he knows about vampires came from Twilight. I'm pretty sure he's just commenting on the fact that those books and movies kick started a Hollywood obsession with the blood suckers. Over the last couple of years we've got Twilight, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Remakes of Fright Night and Let The Right One In, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, etc. They are everywhere.

@Roto13 This is not related story-wise to Infamous 2. Same city setting (for the most part) but no real story-nods or inside things based on Infamous 2 that I noticed. Definitely worth a play through while you wait for a price break on Infamous 2.

You will however be majorly pissed that you won't have the bat flight if you play this first. Just play infamous 2 first.

I haven't played Infamous 2 yet, but this seems like a perfect fit for the series. The first one was so awesomely cheesy and over the top; I loved it. This sort of campy theme should compliment it perfectly, and judging by most reviews, it does just that.

I had no idea that this doesn't require the actual game. That's a really smart move and I wish more developers did this. It makes me think of Case Zero and how I know so many people that loved that, but never bought DR2. If you make it a stand-alone product, you only increase your market and odds of more people purchasing it. Either way, I will be getting both the full game and this DLC.

Kind of what Insomniac did w/ Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty. It's a great idea, especially if people are hesitant to buy the full priced game, you can spend a little bit of money and see what the game is like without a huge investment as well as get more out of it then a cheap 15 min demo. I hope companies do this more often. Maybe even add in a little cross-game bonuses like extra costumes or such if you have both...

"Without a doubt, it has the most character of any three-hour game I have ever played."
I lvoe how everyone glossed over this part in the comments. I'm usually the last person to bring up game length because I understand that seeing a new movie would cost more and you would get less time out of that money spent. However when you have to spend three hours to download a 3GB game and then you beat it by putting a couple hours into it that day and a couple more the next, does feel like you got cheated.

Please no one get confused, I enjoyed completing the game and getting 100% done in it but if I ran a blog or did any type of reviews I would recommend people waiting for it next year when it will most likely be on sale.

It is on sale right now for Plus members. Only $7.99!! And the reviewer thought it was a steal at $10. I wonder what that makes $8 then? ;)

I haven't played Infamous 2, so the idea of running around exploring and monkeying around in this city after completion is amazing. I beat the game in one 4 hour sitting, but I feel that this game at $10 is an absolute steal.

Does that imply that there aren't any spoilers for inFamous 2? That'd be nice. I was kind of afraid to play this one until I could finish the sequel.

cool. For a moment there, I was afraid it had gotten a bad review (I only bought the title based upon the PSN cumulative star rating, not sure those are even legit at this point or not, didn't see this until just now).
