If you were jealous of Michael and all his video game character fans in Sony's awesome "Long Live Play" ad, Sony's giving you a chance to get your own sliver of the gratitude pie. Just head over to Facebook and let Kevin Butler induct you into the Hall of Play.
You'll not only get your own "Michael" ad, you'll get to hang out with KB in a sport coat, and if that's not worth a few clicks and minutes of your time, we don't know what is. (Also, he claims he'll be giving out macaroons.)

For real joystiq... It's getting rediculous. Update your iPhone app already. It's been a year!

yes. it has so many bugs and no one even cares in the slightest. my main issue i have is after reading an article and pressing the back button the article list screen is white. Only solution is closing the app and deleting it from my task bar.
and also, posting.

I agree, and now with iOS5 it got even worse. Seriously, how hard is it to make few improvements. I will even donate $5 to make it happen sooner.

Gotta hand it to Sony with their marketing lately. At least they're actually focusing on the gaming portion of their console instead of over hyping every other feature.

Ugh - am I the only one who thought that new "Michael" ad was lame? Sure it's kind of cool seeing some of video games most famous faces being portrayed by actors - but when they all start praising Michael and chanting his name - it just gets stupid. It felt like a Dead Pool comic, with these iconic characters breaking the fourth wall and acknowledging their existence as it really is - but that's a "Dead Pool" gimic - none of these characters would do that in the context of their reality.

I thought with the Michael ad, breaking the fourth wall wasn't a big deal. In fact, that was the whole point of the ad. Games aren't something you watch, you play them. Having the characters recognize that WE guide them through an adventure was what made the ad so amazing. Without our input, characters die or just stand around doing nothing. It really focused the core idea of videogames (interactivity) in a round about way.

First, his name is Deadpool. Second, breaking of the fourth wall was around long before Deadpool comics. Third, it is spelled gimmick. Fourth, it is a literary device not a gimmick. Fifth, it is just a commercial and the characters have already been pulled out of their "reality".

I don't have a PS3 and I have to admit, Sony has way better marketing when it comes to their console.
