Retro City Rampage turns on the Biffsignal

How does Retro City Rampage get so many jokes in at once while remaining a playable game? This latest trailer, for example, introduces "Biffman," a superhero for whom your character substitutes.

In just a few brief scenes (and relatively few pixels!) this setup allows Vblank to make fun of Batman in general, and the '60s TV show in specific, while making a random, but logically sound, Pitfall! reference -- and a related Atari 2600 joke.

"Biffman" is also a funny name, on its own.

Kinda sad this isn't in ps3 the 360 dpad is no good and well I dont really want to buy it on the wii.

The really sad thing is that this game was going to be free at one time when it was still an 8bit remix of GTA3. Not that anyone really needed to play GTA3 again but to think this almost could have been a free game in general sucks.

Yeah, too bad it's turned into such a substantial game that can stand on its own merits. It's always really sad when I can't get an awesome, unique experience for the same price as a free 8-bit de-make, because I hate supporting developers and their games.

Sorry, but I don't believe paying $10-$15 instead of nothing for a significantly improved product constitutes "really sad." The game is looking fantastic, and I am looking forward to buying it.

I want to know a release date, as this looks incredibly fun.

This has been "coming soon" for far too long now. If it ends up being $15 I may have to give it a pass. The trend has been heading that way for a while now. Pretty much $10 is the new $5. That being said this game looks packed to the gills with funny references and nostalgia and for $10 I would be all over this.

I am absolutely looking forward to this. Too many great 80's references to let this slide by, and it looks like it will be legitimately fun to boot.
