Binding of Isaac gets a big ol' Halloween update

Edmund McMillen's slightly disturbing indie dungeon crawler Binding of Isaac has been extended and expanded on this, the most spookiest of days. Don't expect any seasonal additions, however: In lieu of Jack O' Lanterns and mutant candy corn monsters, the free update features new bosses, a new playable character, an additional ending and a fifth chapter, which, in a fittingly bizarre twist, is "unlocked after 10 mom kills." Check out all the new features after the jump.

The game will be updated on Steam by 3 p.m. ET today. It's probably not the scariest thing you could play today, though. If only it were as utterly horrifying as its launch trailer!

BIG HALLOWEEN UPDATE (with no actual lame halloween themes)

Added chapter 5 (unlocked after 10 mom kills)
Added 3+ new bosses
Added 4 new enemies
Added 20+ new items
Added one new unlockable character (Eve)
Added one new "FINAL" ending.
Added 6+ new achievements
Added 2 new music tracks by Danny B
Added updated collection viewer
Added 4 new tarot cards ( finishing the major arcana )

You have to be quite averse to any challenge or enjoyment if you don't find this game fun in any way.

This is one of my best buys this year and for only £3.5!

I've put 14 hours into this game and have only beaten it twice.

Kill mom 10 times? I can't kill her once...

I was lucky to get one mom kill lol. Love this game though

Been playing this one for a while. It's very rewarding to be able to finish it after a few tries.

I'm only missing the no damage achievements now. Those are truly a horrible thing.

Wow... 10 mom kills? Yeah right. I haven't even made it past the first 10 levels! :p

what about controller support?? if there was ever a game in need of it, it's this one. guess i'll have to continue to use joytokey :(

@(Unverified) I tried using JoyToKey, but felt I had more control over Isaac using the AWSD and arrow keys.

Edmund really needs to come up with a more serious way to support controllers.

Never heard of this game, but the Legend of Zelda interface and cute graphics has me interested.

Hey, lookit, someone ripped off the entirety of The Legend of Zelda 1 and passed it off as their own game with stupider looking, uninspired characters! I guess the only thing we have to fear on Halloween is copyright infringement. Scary.
