Space Marine DLC unleashes chaos this December for $10
16
Fall in, marines! As you know, the war on the Orks goes well -- we're gigantic, chainsword-wielding monstrosities and those green bastards slice up nice. As such, the Emperor has seen fit to bolster our Exterminatus efforts with a new mode, called Chaos Unleashed. The Emperor's dispatch promises "new boss rounds, new co-op arenas and new enemy units like the Imperial Sanctioned Psyker" in December.
But here's the catch: Our war is costly, and the Emperor is asking every marine to come up with, uh -- wait, $10 or 800 Microsoft Points? This has to be a typo, because out here in space we've never heard of these things. We'll have to get back to you on that one.
Chaos Unleashed also brings with it three new warzone operations across Habs Ablaze, Station Tertius and Aquila Canyon, plus a -- wait, this has to be a typo, too. A new "Capture the Flag mode" for multiplayer available to all players outside of Chaos Unleashed? Frankly, we're starting to doubt the Emperor is of sound mind.
[Thanks, Copybass.]

Didn't think the DLC would be $10, but it is a fun game though... Might have to bite the bullet on this one.
For the Emperor, of course.

I've been surprisingly hooked by the MP, would actually be willing to grab the DLC, so long as there is anyone still playing it alongside BF and MW....

i would love to play some CTF on Space Marine. not sure why that mode wasn't released with the full game.

So if in this new mode you play as Chaos and slaughter guardsmen, I probably will not get any sleep. Ever again.

I just don't like the fact that this DLC, which doubles the number of maps for Exterminatus, adds a new mode to Exterminatus, as well as new enemy types, AND brings Achievements to the game, something everyone asked for when Exterminatus was released.... Is ten dollars, AND was announced less than three days after Xbox even GOT Exterminatus.
I mean; at that point it's pretty obvious that for the 20 days over the DAY 30 FREE DLC time they claimed it was going to be, they weren't just working on Exterminatus, but also DLC for it. Ten dollar DLC to supplement the "FREE" DLC they released only a few days before.
Honestly, they're selling this game in pieces - Want Co-Op? Better shell out unless you only want two maps and to be unable to play with people playing the other Co-Op mode.
Next up: Dawn of War III, where you can either buy the Single Player campaign, or the Co-Op Campaign, or the Multiplayer.

I also forgot to mention the fact that Multiplayer, while fun, only had two modes and six maps. To get more MODES we also have to pay? Ridiculous. It's like they're learning from Activision.

Now, let's go over what you've said here.
First off, I read the article. I read this many times on their site. I know CTF is free. However, Chaos Unleashed, alongside Exterminatus, is now a MODE. That is a paid MODE for Multiplayer.
As for Exterminatus being something they could have charged for - The game was sixty dollars, and was supposed to have Co-Op released with it, as was announced a LONG time back. When they decided to make it DLC, that was fine, however the game itself had less than ten hours of content overall, and really needed that Co-Op.
That Co-Op they announced would be shipped with the game.
That Co-Op they delayed 30 days, then another 20 days, and are now charging for expansions to.

Your entitled to your opinion as long as your realize that your dollar/length/value ration is PURELY subjective.
If a single player portion of a shooter lasts longer than 8 hours seems like a pretty decent length in comparison to every other shooter that has come out this generation. If it's longer than that it's usually just filler. If you are worried about maximizing your dollar you should probably just stick to RPGs/MMOs
Also they probably could have held the game and waited for the Co-op to be finished but that would have pushed them farther into the crowed release schedule where they probably wouldn't have gotten the 1M sells they currently have, so seems like they made the right call on that one.
