Are you ready for Modern Warfare 3? No, really -- are you ready? After almost a full year of trailers, conventions, in-fighting and speculation, we don't think you're fully prepared for the game to launch on Tuesday. We think you need one more video, this time in live action and featuring Jonah Hill, Sam Worthington and Dwight Howard.

Seriously, the franchise is just annoying - the seventh minor iteration of a low skill, spaz fest shooter from a publisher that has a creatively bankrupt portfolio. Add to that one of the biggest scams of DLC (not to mention the games themselves have been $60 map packs) and it's just franchise fatigue - I enjoyed COD 2 and 4 and after the broken hack fest of MW2 I was done.

People dislike that this franchise is worn out and is offering almost nothing new to the table. GET OVER IT. Some people feel that effort shouldnt be going towards something that is almost identical to the last product. How does not wanting to spend money and play the same thing over and over again make you have no life? People have every right to complain

That's OK, everybody is entitled to that sort of opinion.
It's just that we've only heard it enough to last several lifetimes.

The point that the people who really enjoy cod are trying to make is that there hasn't been really a good sequel to COD4, mw2 was supposed to be it but it didn't quite deliver. If this were modern warfare 10 and they still hadn't gotten their sh1t together, then the cod haters can complain freely as much as you want, but given that they haven't [yet], all the complaining about copy-and-paste franchise is a bit unwarranted.

@damnreds This trailer did the same thing that the Black Ops trailer did to me last year. I wasn't gonna get it because I figured it was gonna be the same serious old shit... then I saw this throw all the serious shit out the window and go crazy, and I'm like, "...dammit, they got me again."

I just got a great comparison for this game and the Apple iPhone.

New ones come out about every year that are slightly different "better" (such as a voice app gimmick) or several new guns.

The difference is that one is only available on an overly expensive 24 month contract with an up front fee and a huge charge if you want to upgrade to the new one during your contract while the other costs about the same as one month of that contract, two if you include xbox live, 3 if your include the game, CoD ELITE and Xbox Live.

Hey guys I'm going to compare a video game called Call of Duty to an iPhone.

Even though based on my reasoning of "new every year" you can compare Call of Duty to other things such as, other video games, cars, computers, tv shows, movies, books, music, etc I think comparing it to an iPhone is just right.
