Never underestimate the addictive power of microtransaction infused farms, apparently, as Zynga has disclosed a record quarter for the period between July 1 and September 30: Over $306 million, an 80 percent increase in revenue over that same period in 2010. The social megalith attributes the increase in revenue to the successful launches of Adventure World and the Facebook version of Words with Friends, which took place during this quarter.
Revenue is a very different beast than profit, however, where Zynga continues to decline. Following a 95 percent year-over-year profit decrease in Q2, the SEC filing shows a 54 percent decrease year-over-year in Q3 after a total of $12.5 million in net profits.
Hey Zynga, want a tip? It's on the house: Monetize letter tiles in Words with Friends. We'll pay you fifteen dollars to get rid of "MXLCZDL."

What a surprise, facebook games are declining in popularity, who'd a thunk it?

@ouenwoof What? No. They're bringing in more revenue so that means they're increasing in popularity.

Excuse me, but Facebook has some good quality games. But when you want a good, quality, game.... you don't think "Zynga". Their nickel & diming shit and inability to keep the myspace version as updated as their facebook version gave me the 1st red flag. The nickel & diming shit got worse over the years too. They sucked the life out of their f2p model in favor of greed. That's why they're still declining yearly. 3 more years and we should really see some change.

Damn.
Considering I haven't seen a Zynga post in a long time, I had hoped that they ceased to exist.

There are multiple good reasons for people to hate Zynga. Just because you are ignorant of them and unwilling to find them out doesn't mean they don't exist. This also doesn't mean people are just big nasty, elitist gamers who are jealous of their success. Get over yourself and go do your research.

Addicting games for casuals? I wouldn't even call them that. They quite literally made a bank in adobe flash, in which the currency is your friends and the money you're supposed to be earning while playing. You're not casual if you play Zynga games, you're a rube.
