After 3 years that must be like a major update to call it "Season 2". Any new maps to go with that? Nope, seems its just the same old maps then...

@Evi1Genius

I never understood those who clamor for more maps in MOBA games...

Different layouts of the same general gameplay will not add anything but a few weeks of "ooooh, shiny" to what's currently available.

I'm glad they scrapped Magma Chamber. People would of tooled around with it for a short while, then swiftly got right back to their regularly scheduled program (Summoner's Rift), just like they did with Twisted Treeline.

Dominion was brilliant, and what the game needed. Not just more maps, but actually novel ways to play the same game.

If you're just looking for additional content, then look no further than their regularly released new champions, as well as the occasional old champion rework and new/reworked items. These add much more to the game than what a new map would bring.

If that sounds boring to you, then you're simply bored with the game altogether, and I trust a new map would do little to assuage this.

Different layouts of the same general gameplay will add a whole variety of techniques and strategies and allow for new and different scenarios to happen.

I'm sad they scrapped Magma Chamber. blah blah opinions

Dominion was boring, shorter arcady games, why? a new game mode =/= a new map. A game is defined by it's rules and objective so dominion can be classified as a completely different game, just like soccer and basketball.

If you're just looking for additional content, Riot's new champions that come every two weeks will be sure to bore and disappoint. Another poorly costumed human with the same set of spells with just a few minor differences.

Multiple maps are essential to any game, whether football or starcraft. How is LoL an exception?

"they just released a new map and gameplay type stupid."

My last comment was made in general and includes that, stupid.

I played it and I still say its lacking in content. There can easily be more levels in Dominion.

@Evi1Genius you are in the wrong genre of video games. Call of Duty will have your map packs incoming.

..."Multiple maps are essential to any game, whether football...."
..."Multiple maps...whether football...."
..."maps...football..."

Hmm, I don't believe there are "new maps" in football or most any other physical sports games (exceptions: golf and to a lesser extent, tennis) . There's one map re-skinned in multiple ways. Novel, yes, but in essence a moot point. Now if you want to bring up turf vs grass and dome vs open...then yes, extremely minor differences that are still mostly cosmetic.

In fact there's another revered competitive genre that, I believe, essentially only plays out on one "map" -- fighting games. With only a couple exceptions (DoA and Smash) essentially all matches are played on the same re-skinned field. Does this make these games any less valid and exciting? No.

I think maps are necessary for some games, unnecessary for others. League of Legends is fine with just Summoner's Rift re-skinned in new, cool looking ways.

Teams is clearly the best addition to season 2, btw it should be noted that the team's ELO rating is completely independent from solo/duo queue's rating.

FYI: Promote can only be used in cannon minions. In addition: Heal and Cleanse spells are getting buffed: Heal will scale better into lategame, and Cleanse will remove debuffs from summoner spells now (such as Ignite and Exhaust) as it did originally AFAIK. Also: Flash is getting nerfed: decreased range and increased cooldown.
