NBA Jam and Payday top October PSN sales
15
We get it: every October, it's all about basketball and bank robberies for us, so naturally the top-grossing games on PSN for the month revolve around similar subject matter. The PlayStation Blog reports that the two top games purchased and installed in October are NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and Payday: The Heist in first and second place, respectively.
Taking third place was the re-release of Crysis, followed by Chrono Trigger and Resident Evil 4 HD. Also, we're glad to see Odin Sphere debut in the charts at number 15 -- you may recall, its release is part of the "Only on PlayStation Network" campaign where select PS2 games were given new life as PSN titles. We're all for older games (especially good ones) finding a new audience!
You can see the full list of October's top-earners through the source link below. Just try not to flip out too much when you see Real Steel rank higher than God Hand.

@Hayam
I was looking at that the other day. I have had $20 in my PSN wallet for over a year now and that was one of the few games that really jumped out at me. That and God Hand...

@Timjoy for the price they are asking for it's well worth it. I get to fantasize I'm in the Movie Heat! Best part mostly everyone I played with uses mics.

I would have picked up Odin Sphere and Maximo again if PS2 classics had trophies, but I'm content with my hard copies.

I honestly thing Payday would be fun, just not sure about killing innocent cops.

I actually haven't, partly for the same reason. I realize it's all fake, but shooting up anyone that is innocent just doesn't feel right.

@Warlock234 Well I can't knock a man for having morals. I have no problem with it, maybe because I grew up on some Public Enemy. lol

Last year when the game launched for Nintendo, our campus had promotional representatives set up with demos and free t-shirts. Glad to have that t-shirt even though the game isn't as addictive as Hangtime.

On Fire Edition brought back the addiction, IMO. Even though I miss the classic campaign, the way they mix it up with the challenges (and the challenge itself!) and the unlocking and rewards system is really classy. I loved 2010's NBA Jam, but OFE blows it out of the water. OFE should have been the retail release.

Payday is good but so far I've been on two German speaking crews, 1 French, 3 silent and only 1 that spoke English. shame I can't filter online games by language.
