I'm glad it's fun, and I will definately play it, but I just don't see how they can justify charging $60 for this. How can it not have online co-op at least? You have offline co-op built right in. I have to think you'll see a quick price drop after the early adopters pay their early adopter tax, and then we'll see the price settle down to the $30-40 range where it belongs. Looking forward to eventually playing it.

@Hoops

It's called playing with people in the same room. You know, like NSMB Wii, DKC Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby Returns to Dreamland, etc.

Not everything has to be online. Interacting with people in real life is a better alternative.

@tendoboy1984 First of all, those games are all made by Nintendo, a company not exactly known for doing all they could when it comes to online.

And second... those games were all less than $60.... So my point still stands.

@Hoops Gonna be honest, online would be awful and probably harm it. If you've watched any footage of this it's extremely fast lightning quick twitch platforming and such, and online with any hint of lag would absolutely destroy it and make it far more frustrating then anything else. Local's fine for this one.

Why is it called "local multiplayer"? This must be a new term, cause I remember when it was called "offline mutiplayer", to distinguish it from online.

I think "offline multiplayer" sounds better.

@tendoboy1984

Because you can still be online while playing this multiplayer on the same console.

A solid platformer with tons of charm and a focus on true HD animation? SOLD.

Was that so hard? Glad to see the influence of Capybara Games and Klei making its way to Ubisoft and others.

For games that have fine-grained animation cycles, network latency is a killer for decent online co-op. I personally prefer higher quality art and animations at the cost of having no online co-op.

@matthargett Can't agree with you there. I like graphics, and I like the game to look nice, but I will take better gameplay elements that make the game more fun, such as the ability to play online with my friends, over prettier visuals. And for $60 I really don't see why I can't have both.

I'll definitely be picking this up...someday soon. Got too much on my plate already. I will say that I'm curious about the 3DS version.

That's what super meat boy was missing! Unlockable abilities! The extra characters all felt a little shit compared to the original you know?

When in-game screenshots look like artwork... there you have a beautiful game.

I'm also curious about the 3DS version although I hope that the 3D effect outweighs the sub-HD resolution (w/ jaggies). I'm not sure why anyone would buy this game on Wii unless its the only console they own. The game is absolutely gorgeous on HD consoles.

When I first heard about it and saw screenshots, I thought Origins was going to be horrible. Then, two weeks ago I got to play it. Then I played the demo on my PS3 today. I honestly can't wait until I can buy it. Seriously, I'm in love with this game.

It really is THAT great. I can't even believe I doubted it now. I guess that's a side-effect of a large Rabbids in-take. Rayman Origins is definitely one of, if not THE best modern side-scroller. Also, no 3D models. Big bonus.

Of course Ubisoft shafts the PC yet again, which was by far the best platform for Rayman 2. Screw you Ubisoft.

@Marshillboy because people on the PC will just download it for free like jerks.
