seriously, I couldnt begin the very first quest because i killed a chicken in riverwood, and the woman i needed to talk to was trying to kill me along with the rest of the town. They should have had a sign up or something letting me know that their chicken is revered as a friggin god

It surely was an end to the immersion, and something that I'd hope they would fix from Oblivion. Only 10 minutes into the game, and I had the townspeople coming after me with knives and swords drawn. *sighs*

Wow... that's a weird flaw in the AI. It's one of those logical gaps of "you don't see it so you don't know what happened" even when right in front of your face. Interesting.

@commonperson It's actually incredibly lifelike AI.
...assuming the life you're trying to emulate is a a child under 8 months old.

I think the AI is weak and amazing at the same time, weak because people react when someone put a bucket on their heads right? and by the "Object Permanence" you mention but its amazing because the NPC only react when they see you doing it

@sciensyner It's an interesting issue, I think it's amazing that they have the characters react but there's gaps. I mean if this is the biggest problem with the game that's sort of searching for problems and that's not my point. I think it's just interesting the weird gaps that develop when constructing an AI things that as a human you kind of take for granted.

How does the thievery/getting caught business work in Skyrim? Is there a jail you're brought to? Are there guards who'll catch you?

I wonder if these videos are from the PC version?
I can't figure out how to pick up objects on the X360.
In Oblivian and Fallout, I could press R3 to pick up an object. But I'm not having so much luck with Skyrim. ?
I really just want to pose all the undressed dead lady bandits.

How do you manipulate objects like in Oblivion?

@goat biscuit
All I know is that in the PS3 version, you look at the item and it will say Press X to Steal. But if you hold down the X you can then pick the item up and move it around.
