Amazon calls this deal "Buy One, Get One 50% Off" but we prefer to think of it as "Get Two $60 Games for Just $45 Each." Normally, these kinds of deals have perhaps one marquee title playing the role of siren, calling your wallet-shaped ship to its rocky, mediocre-game covered shores; however, this deal is different.
Blockbuster titles like Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Rage, and more are available choices, with some junk like The Black Eyed Peas Experience and Go Vacation, just to keep us on our toes. With this many options, we're more inclined to think of it as a "Buy Three, Get One Free" deal. This offer is good for a "limited time," which we think means "not long."

Wouldn't that be two games for $90, not $45?

I think they mean each game is $45. But the way it's worded did make me confused at first.

Don't you mean Get Two $60 Games For $90? I'd be all up on that deal if what you said was true.

To Skyrim, or not to Skyrim? Hmmm....
I still have that $75 gift card to Target and they will, surely, be offering a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale before too long.

I think that's my plan, actually, since that is the same reason I am holding off on Arkham and Gears 3.

LOL, that's another great point. From what I've heard, I don't have enough free hours in a day to even scratch the surface of Skyrim.

Afraid not, they had one just a few weeks ago. I don't think they do more than one a year, Best Buy is the only store that typically does b2g1 bi-annually.

It's still better to wait for Black Friday when most to all of those games will be $35 somewhere. Of course you would probably have to brave Black Friday to take advantage of that.

Personally, I'd rather have that picture the other way around.
Skyrim is worth its price. Heck, it might even be worth more.
COD? Quality game by its own right - but I wouldn't pay full price, personally.

Depends, I guess. Bethsoft's games are long as hell, but I've got people on my friends list that were playing BLOPS until the day MW3 came out so if you're a multi-player going for sheer value, COD may be where it's at.
Personally, I Redboxed it, beat the campaign over the weekend and returned it...so it was worth the $8.50 or whatever that I paid for it.

Why would i participate in this when Black Friday is next week? Then I could get 3 games for 90, plus other games for ~35.

I was hoping there'd be something I hadn't played yet to pair with Skyrim, alas. Here's hoping the next deal includes Saint's Row or Assassin's Creed...

So you can, what, save another $5-10 and possibly get trampled in the process? Or worse, be forced to set foot in a Wal Mart?
I'm cheap, but I'm not *that* cheap!

Lol. I wouldn't do that madness either. I was referring to online Black Friday and Xmas sales. I got AC:B last year for something around $35-40 from Amazon, I believe, on Black Friday week. Hoping for similar deal on AC:R and maybe Skyrim.

There was actually a brief window (about three-five hours) yesterday where you could get both games for $60 total, because the wording on Amazon's site said "Buy two games and get 50% off each".
Unfortunately, they've since changed the wording.

Imagine, a suburban place called Mountain View, where Target and Walmart are parked opposite of each other on the same street.
If you walked into both stores, you'd see a dramatic difference in customers, like night and day.
Walmart? Ghetto is, as ghetto was...

It isn't just ghetto, though. It's the utter "We don't give a f***" attitude of the Walmart's higher-ups.
You can go into a giant rant about how horrible they are to family businesses around them, how they're one of the biggest threats to environmental and sweatshop issues but always dodge bullets, and the sudden culture change whenever one of the stores appear within a city...
My argument is simple:
On the Wii launch, the ones who had been staying in line had decided to create a list and sign it in order to mutually protect our spots in line (as the late-comers were starting to steal spots in line). The manager of the Walmart grabbed our list and ripped it up in front of us.
F*** Walmart.

Even if Black Friday weren't right around the corner, its completely normal for games to hit $40 shortly after release anyways, so $45 is pretty unremarkable.
