Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD complete, release date coming soon

Developer Just Add Water has finished work on the PS3 HD update of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath ... now it just needs to figure out a release date. The company says a release date should be announced "soon," and passed along a list of updates it made from the original 2005 Xbox title.

The list is pretty extensive, but some highlights include: updates to all 84 character models (including the live ammo), general environmental upgrades like reflective water, enhanced audio, and everything runs at 720P at 60FPS in widescreen.

For those willing to wait for a portable version of the update, Just Add Water announced in June that Stranger's Wrath and Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee would mosey on over to the PlayStation Vita, complete with cross-platform cloud save functionality.

From all I've read, the reason it's not coming to Xbox is because it was too big for XBLA, so they need to just release it as Games on Demand like RE-HD and Crysis.

It looks like it's gonna be a great version of a really fun game.
I just was really hoping for physical media, though.
Oh well, so this is the future...

Actually, they do! But it still might not get on Live. They've been working with Microsoft, but apparently it's bigger than the size limit for download title, and MS thinks it wasn't popular enough to be on the Games on Demand...

@GPrime101 They have much less popular games in On Demand like shitty licensed games. So I fail to see what Microsoft's problem with this is.

Hopefully they'll go through with the HD patch for the PC version like they said they would

When they announce a 360 version I'll get this. The game was freaking awesome on the Xbox.

Definitely one of the most fun games I have ever played in my life. The Steef character was such a badass. If you have never played this game, then you have no idea how excited you should be.

I wish these would come out together on a disc, I hate purchasing PSN games, I like having a physical copy, especially since this series was always on some form of disc, not download only. I still have the original black labels on PSX!

The Oddworld games were a big part of why I got an xbox instead of a ps2, I really hope this remake finds its way onto xbla.
