"Black's cool reception" what? That was one of the best game on PS2, I still play it ffs. The critics loved it too!

Bodycount though.....well that deserved all the bad things said about it

@BrianZeluz I Agree. I enjoyed Black (xbox) and the destructive environments. I think I still have the title/game somewhere...

Black was pretty fun, but when is the generic WWII shooter plague going to end??

I'm reasonably certain that Red Orchestra 2 was the only WWII shooter to come out this year. The "plague" has been dying off for a while now.

There's a plague of WW2 shooter games? I only wish that were true. I'm all for a good modern shooter, but it seems we have a plague of current/near future shooters. I'd love a return to a good historical shooter.

I'll keep an eye out for this given Stuart Black's track record, but it would be nice to see a bit more variety in terms of historical FPS gaming. Granted, doing something based on the American Civil War or earlier wars would limit armaments, let alone reload time, but still... something 'fresh' would be welcomed over another WWII game.

@foxhound

Exactly, I would love to get in as a solider of the civil war or rev war. It would be great to get in one of those time frames. Sadly it doesn't seem like any developers wanna take that chance.

I love World War II games, but the screenshot looks a little......

I'm gonna wait until I see some gameplay before I do backflips.

That looks more like a piece of concept art than a screenshot to me.

It's been some time since I saw a good WW2 game without zombies....I miss the feeling I got from the MOH: Allied assault .
The Omaha beach in MOH was and still one of my favorite moments in video games

I'm not a fan of the zombie craze, either, but I really enjoyed the "main" portion of World At War. Always enjoyed that setting and wish CoD would return to it.

Anybody who complains about WWII games deserves to be shot. We haven't seen a good one in years, and it's and excellent setting for a game. Easily my favorite setting for a war FPS. You know what gets old? Modern setting.

I can't wait to see how this turns out.

@ovoon I'm all for it if it has good gameplay and story. Really, we haven't seen any WWII games for a while and if it's made well I don't see a point in complaining about it. I would like to see some games from older wars like the Civil War which was mentioned above because the guns were much harder to use, so a lot of times you would have to use different tactics and, for when it gets up close and personal, just beat the **** out of someone. It could be really exciting and fresh feeling.

Could not agree more. I know there's some out there who will undoubtedly disagree, but I *LOVED* when Call of Duty was historical. I enjoyed the heck out of Call of Duty 3 and World At War. I'm always hoping we see a return to that era.

I'm experiencing modern military shooter fatigue and I never thought I'd say this, but I think I'm ready for another WW 2 shooter. Let's not bring back the craze though.
