Gears 3's Bullet Marsh video flythrough will devour you whole

It's very, very important that you don't travel too far from the light in the upcoming, rebooted Gears of War 3 map Bullet Marsh. Not because its shadiest corners house equally shady characters -- unless, of course, you consider maneating Kryll swarms shady. Which ... um, you might, now that we think about it.

Epic recently posted some information and a video flythrough of Bullet Marsh, one of the five free battlegrounds included in the Booster Map Pack, due out Thanksgiving Day. Check it out, and seriously, watch out for those swarms. Getting eaten by bugs is one of the worst ways to die in Gears 3, right behind getting chainsawed in half, curb-stomped and exploded.

Can't wait to see what Clocktower will look like. I really didn't like Bulletmarsh in Gears 1, I can't wait to play it in Gears 3.

You are mistaken. The Free booster pack will only give you Bulletmarsh and Clocktower for free, The 3 maps are from the Horde command pack will not be free, They are being added to the Matchmaking servers though this booster pack. You have to look into to get the technical details for it. You're only getting Bulletmarsh and Clocktower free,

Sure, they get to play those maps on the servers, but they don't own the content for hosting private matches, the horde upgrades and characters.

But then arent you technically getting the 3 maps for free anyways? If they are in the booster pack I assume you can play them private/public/horde/whatever?

I assumed the only thing the horde dlc did was add new features. The booster pack will give everyone every map.

"On November 24th, Epic Games will release a free downloadable content pack for Gears of War 3. The “Versus Booster Map Pack” adds two more maps for online play. The new maps include “Bullet Marsh” and “Clocktower”, two old favorites from the first Gears of War. The other three are the new maps from the “Horde Command Pack: Azura, Rustlung, and Blood Drive. All maps will be available on public matchmaking via dedicated servers."

People are assuming you get the 3 Horde maps for free, You do not. They just get added to the Matchmaking on the same day.

All 5 maps will be in public rotation for everyone on the dedicated servers. They are all free for everyone in public vs. They will not be available to people in private matches unless you own the DLC.

You are getting 5 free maps. DLC owners paid for Horde/Beast private, the skins, characters and upgrades. They've specifically said they want to keep playlists to a minimal so they are releasing all the maps into rotation so that everyone can play them in public versus.

You can go check the forums, but you don't have to pay for the DLC maps to play them in public.

Honestly Bullet Marsh has to be my least favorite maps out of all the maps from Gears 1&2. I really hope they'll bring back more than just Bullet Marsh and Clocktower from Gears 1.

Looking forward to playing the other maps in Gears 3 in Versus at last though, and of course Clocktower! :)

I think the concept of the Kryll and and the scenario fit in well with Raam's Shadow campaign... so they went with that map because it featured both the bats and Raam in that timeline. (Before Gears1)

One of the Devs asked on Twitter for someone to make a thread asking, "What map would you like to comeback" The top ones where Clocktower and Bulletmarsh. I voted Raven Down because of the new Alpha playlist. No Sawed-off:)

Great to see the Kryll return, now they just need to bring back Seeders and Emergence Holes (whatever happened to those?).

They didn't have emergence holes in Gears 3 because the Locust were above ground. Having emergence holes would be a major plot hole (no pun intended)
