While I agree in general, the one thing I do like about this one over a lot of LEGO Brand building blocks, IP sets is that LEGO has a tendancy to make large custom pieces for IP sets at times. Which really kills a lot of the point of it being a LEGO kit and not just a toy.

Yeah, I was sad to find out that Mega Blocks got the blizz IP and not Lego, but that didn't stop me from buying this. To be honest as I was building it it felt no different than a normal Lego set.
I'm actually messing around with some Lego creation software tools now, In an attempt to figure out how I can re-model this using legos instead of mega blocks. I also want to make it 2.5 times larger so it will look more impressive hanging above my cube. :D

Mega-bloks is far worse with the big ugly plastic pieces and single use elements than Lego is. I've seen large 30 dollar Mega-bloks sets with less than a hundred pieces. Lego is generally only that bad when it's something explicitly kiddy like Cars or Ninjago.
