Will you also be able to buy these games alone? It's a good idea from the company standpoint, but terrible for consumers.

Now if only they could get people to buy them...

Considering they consistently have a game in the top 10 highest grossing and a sample of others in the top 100, I'd say they are doing just fine.

They pretty much make video games for people that don't play video games. I've never purchased one and don't plan on it, but don't let your distaste for their games cloud your perceptions of their performance.

The moment you start giving money to Big Fish you know that you have messed up. Especially if you consider yourself as a gamer.

Here we go, the next big trend in video game industry greediness is to do away with ownership. Instead they'll have us all just leasing games for a monthly fee regardless of whether it is a multiplayer game or not.

You'd be better off spending the money on the few Big Fish Games titles you actually WANT to play rather than trying them all out using a subscription. Their games don't usually scream quality, especially since most of them are hidden object games and reskins of other popular games.

I think the ability to sell a subscription service has always been there with iOS. But Apple's ridiculous "you can't sell stuff within your app without apples 30% cut on every transaction rule".. People have just turned to apple and said... "screw that".

I don't want to be mean, but you clearly have no idea about business. Apple is not the only one who asks for a 30%, so do companies like Android, Amazon, and every company on the planet! That's how business done. People who complain about things they don't understand should really go read and learn. You need to learn about business and how the tech industry, and for that matter most all industries, work.

And just in case you didn't notice, no one has said "screw that" to Apple and it's app store. It's the most successful app store in the world, making tons of money for not only Apple for also developers. But I guess you hadn't noticed, or read news.

or...

he could just be another stupid blind fanboy who spews out whatever he reads online and forms his own opinion around it then posts something that sounds right but is obviously wrong. All this so he can get props from other trolls that love to hate anything popular because its... um... popular. Its become rather annoying and pathetic honestly. If you're gonna hate apple on anything why would you pick on the most successful thing they have.

You might be confused on what I meant, I know all companies require a 30% sale fee, i'm talking about the stuff sold within the app. If you knew what I meant then:

No no, Google charges 30% only when their in app purchase system is used, this is to me fine, as it's a matter that directly concerns them. App makers are still allowed a web based link to a website where they can sign up for a subscription service.

Ironically, it was pretty big news when apple changed their Terms of Sale to stop subscription services or sign-ups.

While you mentioned Amazon, even their policies are scrutinised by the news sites I don't read. They have the power to sell any app at whatever price they want, why is this bad?? Well If they overcharge for the app you get 70% of the sale price, which is fine.. but if they choose to sell it for free, you get 20% of the list price, Harsh.

Who was I referring to when I mentioned people saying screw that? Notable "oh shit" moments for developers include --but are not limited to--. Spotify and Kindle book-store. Who all had to take out their ability to sell books and subscriptions simply because the app would have been banned without the 30% cut..

But in any case.. Apologies for offending you.

@PR0F3TA

The article was about something being sold on an apple system. My post was criticism for something related to the topic. I also didn't mention any comparison or offer any praises for any other company. As far as I'm concerned, my post has no "fanboy" traits.

But a person springing in calling a person a fan-boy for a negative post about a company.. Could you tell me if there are any "fanboy" traits in that?

Actually quite a few big services did that. Amazons Kindle iPad app, Financial Times, Audible and basically any one else, that instead of in app purchases linked to their own store.
About half the companies that had the capability to do their own sales, I'd guess.
