Any gamepad works fine. Playstation pads require an intermediary device to convert into USB, but if a game has gamepad support, it'll detect it. Controllers run on a very basic interface that doesn't typically change from pad to pad.

And if you want to go overboard with the stuff you can do with it, Xpadder, despite it's name, works with pretty much all controllers. I have a setup that'll act as my mouse and common keyboard short cuts so I can lie back in bed and use my controller to load up and play games comfortably.

@Jennacide

i also recommend Xpadder, it mimics whatever you want it to, key strokes and mouse movements.

It's an API. The functions are only going to be called when needed. It's not going to detect your controller willy nilly for input unless you have specifically told it to, or a game has activated that capacity.

@acme64 not necessarily. when you write code it can include a line that will load the necessary libraries

Interesting. I wonder if there could be a way to demo an upcoming game through a site like Joystiq. Possibly even open the door to an event like E3 offering demos to the masses as opposed to in person only.

It's more going to be aimed at joypad support for Apps (since Chrome gives access to an Android-esque app store) and forthcoming HTML5 based games.

what on earth are you going to use a controller for on a internet browser? chrome should instead fix the problem with embedded videos locking up your computer, that is a much bigger problem with this browser.
