Messi is one of those players that cannot play at all with his country's own selection. Sad but true. :

So true! at the world cup I think he never scored for Argentina.

He did score in the 2006 WC, sixth goal against Serbia and Montenegro, back then when those were a single country. He did not score a single goal in the 2010 world cup tho.

No, he scored 18 goals.

And Messi is not so good at Argentina, because the whole team plays rather...well...not so good at the moment. At Barcelona he has amazing supporting players like Iniesta and Xavi. Argentina doesn't have midfield players like them.

@SoldierShredder

Not at World cups, my friend, he did not score at all in South Africa, and scored just a goal on Germany 2006.

Heck even Martin Palermo has the same ammount of goals in World Cups (Grande titan :D)

@UnnXandros Not replying to you specifically but the people on this comment in general, Messi scored no goals at the 2010 World Cup but was easily Argentina's player of the tournament, setting up a bunch of their goals. Although I suppose when you're a goal a game player at club level people will try and nitpick the smallest things

Why? He's great at being in the right place at the right time and getting tap-in goals (which is a valuable skill), but he rarely displays the sort of awe inspiring skill that Messi does pretty regularly.

@TheyDidItFirst I agree. I love Chicharito but he is miles from Messi in terms of quality. I'm a Man United fan too.

I'd dig football legends rather than current idols. Players like the obvious Pele and Maradona, plus some europeans like, I don't know, Johann Cruyff. Heck, they could easily feature one football legend/idol for country. I can't tell you how much Chile (my country) would be on fire if they saw a FIFA/PES cover featuring Alexis Sanchez.

Everyone, click of the hyperlink "this" word in the article.

That should be the cover.

I think Messi is overrated. Barcelona only play on him but I think Iniesta and Xavi are the real Barcelona stars.
I'm a Madrid fan anyways.

Anybody knows if there is a Fifa curse, or is it only Madden that has it? Because this guy is to young to be hit by the curse.

There's no FIFA curse. Rooney's been doing fine for the past few years; same goes for all of the other people who have been on the cover in years past.

Great! Now he, too, can be associated with a scandal where Xbox Live accounts are hacked into, copies of FIFA and in-game goods are purchased with the account's credit card (which isn't easily removed), at the account owner's expense, while both Microsoft and EA shirk any responsibility.

Well, okay, probably not. If EA had any sense, that crap would be contained to FIFA '12...

(And no, I'm dead serious. This is a real thing that's been happening.)

Yeah, that's from the idiots dumb enough to respond to posts for free microsoft points emails and messages.

If someone punched you in the face and stole your credit card while you were trying to get back up, is it the credit card company's fault your card got stolen?

Except, y'know, that's not the case. Even people who've stayed away from obvious shit like that are getting hit. Read up on it some before making assumptions.
