Sure 4296-3093-6011, maybe we'll be able to use the join game button once mario kart is released? Not sure why they would include that update in Super Mario 3d land, a game that has no multiplayer....

Why all the downvotes? Vita's memory stick and no PS1 classics at launh combined with this makes this a bad news day for portables. I can wait just fine, but I was just pointing something out

That and the battery life will be as bad as the 3ds... just make the damn things run off of our blood or something

"By a bit" isn't what people would have wanted.

Most PSP games were hardly things you played in short bursts, the DS had a larger selection of short-burst games. That being said, the PS Vita, with all its enhancements - would have prettier looking games, larger games, more content --- with..... shorter battery time?
The 3DS, if it followed the DS line-up of titles, with all its expansions: We'd still get games that we wouldn't play for 5 hours before we charge it up again - which works fine for the 3DS.

Actually Vita will have a shorter battery life, considering the time it reported were completely unreal circumstances (screen brightness to lowest, music at half volume with headphones, all wireless communications turned off). I think they said something along the lines with all of that cranked to "best settings" would amount to 2-3 hours of play time... Which my 3DS outpaces with about 4 hours with best settings.

Granted this is all "shit" or "shitter", but in the age of smart phones and all the gaming I've done draining them to death within 2 hours, it's pretty much what I expected.

That's okay. I've got finals this week, so I really don't have time to play with any of my game systems. I am looking forward to it regardless.

No to sound entitled or anything, but whatever happened to the other games from the Ambassador Program that were supposed to come out by the end of the year?

They'll probably given right at the end of the year....
....or they'll schedule it for January 8th due to internal testing.

Just what I was thinking. I though about it the other day and it all kinda makes sense us not having heard a peep about it. If they hold the free Ambassador games over everyone's heads, people are less likely to get rid of them before their Holiday lineup (Mario Kart, 3D Land) was in stores. I bet that was their plan all along.

At this point, we're getting them at least. It may be right at the end or early next year.

Its scheduled for "winter" pretty much. So probably they'll finish them like dec 23 and release them for christmas.

Just checked my Ambassador Program message on the system last night, clearly states that we will receive the 10 GBA games before the end of the year. So probably late December. Obviously they wouldn't want to compete with playtime of Marioland 3D or Mario Kart 7 though. So probably after Xmas shopping is done.

@NoPantsToday They outright say on all of their press materials and customer service releases that it'll be before "the end of 2011". So I would think early next year is unlikely, but who knows.

I would expect it to be either Christmas Eve, or Boxing day. They'll not release them while it's still likely people would buy games for Christmas, as then that'd risk people realising how many games they now have, and not getting any new games.

Also there's a slightly less cynical reason - if they release on Christmas Eve, it'll be pretty much like a Christmas present...

Final day of classes for me, so that works out pretty well. Come home for break and get to mess around with the update before my mom comes down to visit for two and a half weeks... destroying any game time or sanity I've been able to gather.

QUESTION: Does anyone know if Ambassador Program status is transferred from one 3DS to the other? I have my first and the Zelda edition and I would like to be dependent only on the Zelda edition. If not, maybe I can wait until the GBA games are released, whenever that day comes.

I'm pretty sure it does as its according to your account (hence why its under your account's downloads/purchases), might want to contact nintendo support to be sure

I was asking around and I got reasons it could not work since the Ambassador program is tied to the system itself, but I'm hoping it's tied to the account and not the physical system.

@DJMaxxi Actually, they are NOT transferable. The people stating that they are locked onto the eShop account on the system are correct.

Anyway, they are indeed tied to your system and not your account...but I thought I had heard somewhere that this update coming next week is supposed to allow you to transfer the games you'd downloaded...
