Origin may be the new kid on the block, but that doesn't mean it was born yesterday. EA clearly realizes that its digital-only game service needs to compete with the other digital retailers, as evidenced by its overtly aggressive pricing on today's Cyber Monday sales: Battlefield 3 for $30, as well as Need for Speed: The Run, not to mention package savings that rival Steam's.
Beyond the games available for PC, a variety of the publisher's iOS slash mobile titles are also getting deep cuts, all of which end around midnight tonight. If you were waiting patiently for a heavily discounted copy of Risk for your iPad, now is the time!

Actually, Batman uses Windows Live but Battlefield (obviously) does not. I figured since I was buying Battlefield I might as well get Batman. Luckily, I found a way to launch Batman without Origin. Still, wish Steam had Batman at $25- it was simply too tempting.

They had some pretty good deals on their disc releases over the weekend, except for their $7 shipping charge.

I'm getting addicted to Battlefield 3. I'm pretty good at getting kills and taking flags in Conquest (I'm a 45+5 rank), but I'm starting to have a lot of fun in more of a support roll. I like to be a passenger in a heli with a really good pilot and keep repairing him in mid air and we become nearly invincible (I still get points and XP with each of his kills). It's also cool to stay behind a group of 4 or 5 teammates as they rain fire on the enemy and bring them back to life when they die with the defibrillator. It's a easy way to score a lot of points (and make friends).

Technically it's not digital only since I bought a boxed PS3 copy of N4S:The Run for 30 bucks... 40 after shipping and tax though.
