Can't you bring it back? Most places are more lenient around Christmas time. You might need to wait until after Christmas, though.

Also it's been a long time since i've heard the "pu-rei-stei-shun" voice.
With Butler and the voice, Sony just ticked me in the right places.

I am pleased.

I am just glad the pu-rei-station voice wasn't at it's old-school, 6 decibels louder than the rest of the ad volume level. That would always square the crap out of me.

You can also get a 2nd pair of glasses for $25. I saw that deal online so not sure if the stores will honor it too.

Well, I can't give you a precise date, but I know at least two people who have purchased refurbished 360s from Best Buy. I remember because they both regretted it, when they discovered that the refurbishers had voided the warranty and their consoles didn't qualify for free red-ring or e74 repairs--so it's been at least a year or two.

Best Buy definitely still sells refurbished consoles. I don't expect this deal is for refurbished PS3s, though.

i don't think Best Buy would do that to you, at least not in the lying-to-your-face kinda way. They would let you know its refubed

Oh, no, I didn't mean to imply that they sneak refurbished consoles in with the new ones or anything. Those friends knew that they were buying refurbished consoles; they just didn't know that the warranty had been voided by the process.

I was just informing mywhitenoise that Best Buy does, in fact, sell refurbished consoles. Again, I don't think this deal involves refurbished PS3s.

Sometimes BB sets up tables where they have returned items and such that are discounted. Yet, this is a Sony/BB offering and not something that BB is piecing together. The units would be new and not just tacked on returned items.

To reiterate, I do not believe this deal is about refurbished PS3s. I just wanted to save kmcroc a little face, because mywhitenoise took a little swipe, acting like BB has never sold refurbished consoles, and I know that they do.

And now he's in the blue, and I'm looking like an idiot for continuing this thread. Sorry everyone.

I work for Best Buy. Ol' blue does not sell ANY refurbished items in store. All the refurbs are online only*. We do ocassionally sell returns as open box items, however, consoles are not one of those items. Consoles that get returned end up being sent back to the manufacturer.

Ergo, this deal mentioned in Joystiq is for a NEW playstation with a NEW TV.

*There are outlet centers that sell them, but those damned things are like, impossible to find...

I believe you amigo. I was at Best Buy with a friend once, and seeing as his Xbox had just died, he decided to pick up a refurbished console on the cheap.

you don't need to take in trades to sell refurbished PS3s... demo units, returns, serviced units, etc...

i've seen them for sale many times at best buy. usually it's only 10-20 bucks off the full retail price, but you still get the same warranty and everything.

Actually, yes, they do trade in consoles. Games and handhelds were first, but now the stores take consoles as of about a month and a half ago. If you include Best Buy's website, they've been doing console trade ins for a little over a year now.

As for this deal, it's the 160GB PS3 for $250 in the offer. If you look in Best Buy's ad this week, you can see it.

In my bedroom I still have my dad's hand-me-down 1980's 12" Sylvania.

That's right, this is twice the size of my main T.V.

@Dizazter 24" is really small, something you;d find in a camper or a kitchen. Not going to be easy enjoying 3D or gaming on that little thing unless its maybe in front of the toilet.

No, after my PS2/GCN time was over I switched to PC gaming for awhile.
But this deal is pretty tempting. I might grab it if the deal is still around when I have the cash.

(There is an HD Samsung in the 'rents room that I can use whenever they're not sleeping though.)

I wouldn't take what people say on here too seriously. Lots of trolls around here.

But its cool to actually see parents that don't automatically shower their kids with hundreds or thousands of dollars of electronics. They're teaching you something important by having you save up for it yourself.

And yeah, PC gaming is a way more affordable way to go with the insane Steam sales. Assuming you already own a PC that can handle the games you want.

Sony makes plenty of larger 3D TV's. But they cost more than $500.

Not always a lot more, though. Especially with sales going on..

I check that Monitor out in the store on Black Friday. It's cool, but it's very small. It may be okay for someone that games on a computer monitor, but it was way too small for me. I hope they'll make more sizes.
