Does anyone know if this one is going to be dubbed? I know 3 and 4 weren't.

@The Aquacharger They won't. Hardly anyone wants the dubs who buys these games, and it costs them too much to do

@The Aquacharger Why would anyone want them dubbed? American voice actors just wouldn't do it justice.

Because their subs go by too fast for me to read.
Also, I dislike how they charge $60 when they don't put the $60 effort in these games.

They could add both Japanese and American audio. It's a Blu-ray, or do what dynasty warriors did and have us DL Japanese (or English) voices.

Funnily enough the Yakuza games on the PS2 actually did have dubs.

. . .

. . .

Now let's never speak of them again.

I was aware that Yak 1 and 2 had dubs.
I just have a problem playing a game if I don't understand what's going on in the story. Their subs are too fast for me.

The first Yakuza has dubbed; however, Yakuza 2 only had the original Japanese audio. The dub of Yakuza 1 was worth it just for Mark Hamill's Majima. He had the insanity down without channel to much of the Joker, and the amount of swearing was hilarious.

@The Aquacharger I'm not sure what you mean by them not being "$60 worth of effort". Just because they don't include dubs (which most people don't seem to want, myself included) or because of something else? The games are often a bit... rough around the edges, I'll give you that.

Anyway, the majority of the dialogue still takes place in text form that you have to click through to progress, leaving only cutscenes and telephone conversations where the speed of the subs would be outside your control - for the cutscenes, at least, you can replay all of them from the menu or your hideout if you missed something important.

It's simple. When it launches in Japan it is worth it's full price. When in America it is a port with the basic ammounts of translations done. That doesn't scream $60 worth. They don't put the AAA time into they shouldn't charge the AAA price.

That isn't an AAA price, that's the 'any console game' price - pretty much all PS3/60 games, however (a) shitty or (b) obscure, have $60 official retail.

Assuming the game isn't a big success you can probably just buy it a few weeks later for half off...

Yeah but $60 is the AAA price. For some reason every game thinks they're worth AAA price when they're not.

I want this to be a joke. I love the Yakuza games. This just doesn't match, and they're years late to cash in on zombies.

@darkhellmutt From what I understand, Dead Souls is actually nothing more than a stand alone, what-if game that has nothing to do with the previous titles. In fact, it was just recently announced that there is a proper Yakuza 5 on the way and that it will go back to the original setting and story line of the first four games. You could almost look at it as a place holder until the fifth game comes out.

I seriously cannot wait on this! I played the crap out of the demo and it was wicked fun from start to finish. March can't come soon enough.

It isn't too late. They'll be cashing in with my cash.
