Got to do a free preview for the Shogun vs Henderson fight. Works like a charm, very few times did I have a hiccup. Plus you can rewind and pause which is nice because my friends always show up late. If your a fan this is probably the best way to watch now. Just another reason I can get rid of cable.

@Dirty

Not to mention that entire card (especially the main event) was the best UFC card of all time. I hope the app comes to ps3 eventually.

I wish they did something like this for boxing and wrestling (other good ppv events)

I said the same thing in another article. This, the constant spam and not being able to change my picture are big issues that need to be addressed. I don't want to be Deebo anymore. I have sick My Little Pony avitar all lined up.

The problem with boxing is it's not just one major promoter running things. I can see it with wrestling but I dunno what the market is for it.

I checked out the last PPV cause it was free for the preview folks. HD vid quality was actually pretty good. SD on the other hand was horrible even by SD standards.

Definitely the bloodiest fight I've ever seen though. Hendo was physically holding up Shogun for 3+ rounds (maybe because it was the main event so Hendo tried to extend it/give the crowd its money's worth?). Shogun must've lost a pint of blood, between all that spilled out on the canvas as well as on Hendo.

I think they are trying to get legislation passed to make UFC events legal in NY (obviously for Madison Square Garden), but I'm pretty sure those who have been opposed could just show footage of this fight.

Hendo tried to finish it. It was just all heart by both guys. The last round should have been 10-8 Shogun and I actually scored the fight a draw though I didn't have a problem with hendo getting the decision.

Not much of a UFC fan myself. But, that's a pretty sleek looking menu right there.

Hmm... this is only for the PPV fights? I'd really like something like ESPN 360, with an array of live + recorded fights.

If I pay for the PPV fight, I'd watch it through my set top box and not worry about video quality or buffering. But if it had other fights, for free, I'd definitely use the app.

@Truant The free content will be on Fox networks starting next year (Fuel and FX for content that was previously on Spike, FOX for primetime free cards). Until Fox has a XBL partnership, the free TV content wont be on XBL

Though I do imagine it's possible that the undercars stuff that airs on facebook could be streamed.

@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell - The streamed prelims are moving to FUEL TV next year, at least in the US.

Not sure what's happening in other countries.

Sweet.

I typically order UFC PPVs through their website, but I'm going to try ordering it through XBL to see if it's a better experience.

Yeah, I stopped buying from the website for that reason.

Paying $40 to watch blocks fight...might as well use that money for an old NES and a copy of Pro Wrestling. It would look nearly the same.

Really interesting- but is this really only available for XBL Gold Members? Why wouldn't they give XBL silver members the option to pay per view this like they do with other tv, and movies?

who else is going to help Microsoft pay for the UFC licensing? any third-party service requires a Gold account: Netflix, Hulu and now UFC. None of the Zune stuff requires Gold because you are already paying Microsoft. Still $5 a month is a lot less than cable companies were charging me. I would be paying $80+ a month just to have an option to buy PPV.

Well you can already watch PPV's online through the YouTube Live, UFC.tv & Yahoo services. The cool thing about UFC.tv is you get a free 6 month subscription to the UFC Vault ... Like every fight except the most recent ppv.

PPVs can be watched by both silver and gold accounts.

You need a gold account to be able to watch all the associated content with a fight as well as do the fight predictions and stuff with your friends.

The update seems a little late this year already. I wonder if theyre having trouble getting everything done. I'm sure the TV deals have slowed them down also.

Its got to be better than streaming it directly from the UFC website... for some reason their streams end up being the absolute worst.

I'm stoked this is coming to Xbox Live, but disappointed with the Dec. 20th release, was hoping to watch the Jones vs Machida fight on the 10th.
