Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition outed by BBFC
33
It would seem Warner Bros. is looking to re-release Mortal Kombat, perhaps bundled with all of the DLC characters released. At least, that's what we gleaned from a recent rating that popped up on the BBFC, the British Board of Film Classifications. They also rate video games.
February 17 is the listed launch date for this potential re-release. But right now, outside of the date and our own speculation, there isn't much else to go on. We expect that will change soon enough.

A new edition of Mortal Kombat? Get over here!

They finally fixed that glitch where people that paid full price for the game brand new didn't have access to all the characters then?
:-/
I consider 'Komplete' edition the genuine launch for the game. A fighting game with characters missing for god's sake! Only Midway and Warner Brothers could come up with something as idiotically and transparaently money grabbing as that. Extra characters in a fighting game is not optional or additional content. It's core experience content that puts you at a disadvantage if you don't pay.

Except for the part where people can't pick a DLC character against you unless you have the free and optional compatibility pack...

I wasn't aware that the DLC characters were leaps and bounds better than the normal characters. Huh.

My friend I learned this lesson many moons ago.
I first slipped up with Oblivion getting the original and then GOTY version, then stumbled with Fallout 3 getting the original, and GOTY version, after that I learned to wait.
I got tired of paying the price where I got some DLC and then saw I could get the kabootle in one set as opposed to individually. Add to the fact I much prefer having my DLC on the game as opposed to hogging my limited harddrive space.

I was going to post something like that. The DLC is kind of a scam and getting worse. I mean, it's not worth it to me, at least to the point where I can wait until they release everything as a "Komplete" package for less than the original price. If the big studios want to play this game, I can wait, no problem, your loss.

If nothing else it helped me realize the huge backlog of games that I already have. I can wait I have more than enough games to tide me over. Add to the fact of the rush release price them cool down seeing it drop half way its original mark in a couple months, the bugs and after release patches. Its almost like you are better off waiting now days.

They should have called it the Komplete Kollection. With Kratos, Kenshi, and Kreuger.

Alright, now its clear.
This isn't Capcorn anymore,
This isn't Fighting games anymore,
This isn't PC anymore,
Every game released from now on will have a 'complete' edition 8-12 months with all DLC and a reduced price,
A good game is a good game, I will wait to buy Batman AC, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Prototype 2, etc.
The only exception is this formula is fighting games where the online base will shrink exponentially with time.
I hope that fighting games will not require an online pass or a subscription service in the future.

Well, Mortal Kombat already has an online pass......
I guess this is nice if you haven't bought MK yet, it's an amazing game. But this is one of the only games where I was willing to buy the DLC (the others being RDR and Bioshock 2). The classic costumes were kinda lame, but it was just $5 and they gave a ton of other costumes out for free. I could almost have forgiven it if they hadn't been already on disc.

I would like to thank Warner Bros. for announcing Mortal Kombat Kollection for the pc, and it appearing on digital distribution platforms like Games for Windows Live as "coming soon", and Warner Bros. announcing it would be delayed past the console versions.
Now Boon says it never existed.
Glad to know your treatment of pc gamers extends to lying about a port, then finding out one never existed.

As per usual, go buy a console, or suddenly make PC gaming worth it to every developer who ports over their game.

And this is why I wait a few months after most releases. The price and now the content simply don't justify the early, day one purchase.

@Shockwave I agree.only game I pay $69 is cod because it rarely price drops , up until like 2-3 months till new one you'd see a price drop

So I take it everyone here waits for the trades when they buy or read comics?
I also assume they never buy a DVD at launch, but wait for the Director's Cut edition; nor do they ever buy the first edition of a textbook/novel/biography/etc., instead waiting for one with an added foreword and some originally cut content.
I also assume they whine about not being given the extra content for free.
I mean I certainly hope gaming's not the only medium stuffed to the gills with self-entitled little brats who think everything should be theirs for free.`

It won't be "complete" until they get off their butts and give the Necropolis treatment to the DLC characters. I theater mode would be nice so we don't have to drudge through story mode every time we want to see the cinematics.
It won't happen, though.
