@Pader

I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I ate a serving of your restaurant's Cajun Chicken that went straight past my thighs, and now resides in my chunky knees.

But seriously, congrats!

It's a classic.

I had to read it twice to understand but I get it. Ludwig and some friends were at a restaurant in SA. The waiter recognized him and slipped him that note hoping to get a generous donation. It worked.

I don't get it. What's the point of this "article"?

On a side note, I want to buy Skyrim but can't really afford it along with all the other games right now, so I'll have to wait until Christmas and hopefully I can afford it then.

It's a meme originating from a canv.as remix thread. Someone told everyone to remix that image from hyperbole and a half, and they did. So now BLANK all the BLANK is meme there.

The guy responsible for the original thread is from a site I go to, he never lets us forget he started it.

Awesome story Luddy, thanks for sharing it! I'm of a firm mind that gamers have to stick together, it's awesome to hear little tales like this or of the support gamers showed Chris Hu when he lost his home to a fire.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It didn't go into the news category (for obvious reasons) and was just an excerpt on the front page, but quite a few people have already let me know that they enjoyed the anecdote. Seems like everyone identifies with this particular plight!

Hi, I do not have everyone's contact details from that evening. Can you please let them know that I appreciate the huge contribution? Skyrim was sold out at most retailers but I finally found a copy today.

Thanks again!

The waiter implied that his tip was worth whatever the hell Skyrim costs over there. To emphasize his point, he gave them a drawing.

PROTIP:
If you're using pen and paper, you don't need to use emoticons. You can actually draw a smiley face with the correct orientation.

@Vic Fontaine

I was accepted into the University of Pretoria for Bsc Architecture. Only 4% of applicants make the selection, I was chosen out of more than a thousand people. So I believe I am just above average. I am a waiter because I have to pay for my own study's. I don't have rich parents.

May I ask what your profession is? I wrote this note in less than a minute and the emoticon was part of the " we are all gamers " joke.

Do not judge to quickly.

Ps. Skyrim is amazing.
