I have the emu for PSP and most of the popular games have slow down (F-zero, Yoshi's Island). Playing emus on PSP is perfect but unfortunately the PSP emus can not play all games at full speed.

Today's smartphones are more powerful than the PSP and next year's smartphones will be as powerful as PS Vita... so just get a phone and install emulators on it.

@Filiprino Man, I don't know what kind of smartphones you all are using, but trying to control console emulation with touch screens suck ass with mine.

I'd love to see a speedrun of Super Mario World on a touchscreen android phone.

Don't you worry, your not alone. Emulating is dismal on my end as well.

The only reason I use a emulator to play on my Android phone is for Pokemon. Pokemon IMO is the only game that works well on my touch screen phone.

I have a Motorola Droid 2, and looking forward to getting a Droid 4 once I can upgrade. :)

Phone with keyboard + Game Gripper = Victoly!

Because, yes, touch screen controls are terrible when shoehorned onto games that shouldn't have them.

@(Unverified) way to go, down vote the guy just cause he was speaking sense, you could either have this bulky old thing and carry around cartridges around (like some strange people who still use portable cd players and a bunch of cds) or you can have a all in one device that play the whole snes library in your hand on flash memory/memory card, i know which one i would choose...

Exactly, that's why I'd buy a PSP, to play SNES games.

@(Unverified) Surprisingly, the GBA emu on the PSP runs very smoothly. I think I've ran into one or two problems with certain games freezing at specific points, but that was with an extremely old version of the emulator I was using.

@MEGATOOL If an Xperia Play 2 comes out and it's actually in the same league as it's Samsung competitor I'm totally gonna pick one up. Touch controls licks balls.

I don't have/want an Android handset.
I don't want to steal ROMs.

Overall, based on my 2 statements, I can easily just do without.

But otherwise, the alternative?

I love how everyone's answer to something like this is 'hack it, steal it'.

Although I am being hypocritical... I do have/run a SNES emulator on my Dreamcast.. But its just not very portable.

Earthbound
Zelda Link to the past

$80.00. Pretty cool. I'd have to think about what SNES games I have that I can't play portably already. Castlevania 4, Secret of Mana, the better versions of FF4 and 6, Yoshi's Island... Hm. Interesting.

Sure it did, but FF6 hardly needed one, despite what weeaboos will try to tell you. What it also got was worse graphics, a laggy overworld map, and much worse music.

I would only get it if I still had a copy of EarthBound. I don't see any other game I would play enough to justify it. I've got a 3DS and have only played it 5 times in 4 months. I just don't play handhelds any more.

I've got a Dingoo a380 for these sorts of things (and it emulates pretty well for something that's smaller than a disposable camera) but this does look pretty cool. I don't want to end up having to manage too many handhelds these days, I've still got my Game Boy Micro keeping me busy.

Though I'm sure it would be fun, I can't imagine I'd use it too much. A 3ds pretty much maxes out the size of device I'll carry around, and the cartridges alone are bigger than that. I would have KILLED for this when I was a kid, though (you know, if it was like a bad person).

Has anybody been able to figure out if this thing has full mapper support yet? I've looked around and found it running StarFox (at the correct 'slower' framerate) and Super Mario RPG which is a good sign, but I'd like to know if this thing will run any US cartridge under the sun. Because if it can, I am picking this thing up and using it until I have a portable device that's powerful enough to run bsnes.

Cool stuff right there. Although there's some questions:
1. Why put the controller plugs on the system's face? That way you can't play 2-player games with just one extra controller.
2. Why place START and SELECT that oddly instead of below the screen?
3. Is this a shrinked SNES board in there or a SNES on a chip? (I assume the latter)

Also, if only it was able to play PAL cartridges. I have a huge collection of these but only 14 US ones.

I still have my original SNES. It's yellower than an old wizard's teeth, but I bet it still works. Too bad old consoles look like shit on high def tv's and CRT's are now hanging out with Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa. And Dinosaurs.
