I'm getting a tablet for that, since Android 3.0 and up supports USB controllers. Hopefully the Transformer Prime coming out in a few weeks will be covered.

What in the hell is a Samsung Galaxy R and where the hell is the Samsung Galaxy S2 on this list?

@subHERBian The Galaxy R is a device that Samsung released in a select few markets that uses a Tegra 2 SoC instead of the Exynos one found in most variants of the S2. It looks like mostly Tegra 2 devices are supported; of the Android devices listed, only the Rezound isn't one with a Tegra 2.

I wonder if it'll support the gTablet, seeing that it's Tegra 2 and all.

@Rollins I just converted from Blackberry to Android. One of the selling points for me was knowing GTA was coming. I'm happy I converted and the SGS2 is awesome but c'mon man... what the hell!!! Give me my GTA on the SGS2. Thanks for the informative posts guys... rarely seen on sites like these. I've been edumicated!

@Rollins Good info. Unfortunately, a perfect illustration of the big problem with Android gaming - poor standardization. Even a high-end phone like the S2 can end up being unsupported, and you don't find out until it's too late.

@Diet Kane - I thought I had read that and that the original iPad wouldn't be supported. If I hear good things, I might grab it for the iPad.

@Spookimitsu Honestly, it probably won't support the EVO. All of the Android devices that they've listed so far are dual cores with much more powerful GPUs than what the EVO 4G has. The Adreno 205 that accompanies the Snapdragon CPU that's in the EVO 4G, Droid Incredible, Nexus One, and other devices from that era is notoriously weak compared to both the GPU in the iPhone 4 and in current Android devices.

EVO 4G wasn't good at games when it was brand new, it is in a much worse position now.

And why limit it to certain Android tablets? Why not limit it to certain chipsets and memory requirements? That makes much more sense.

iPhone 4 is faster than the 3GS, but it's also pushing 4x the pixels, which probably nullifies much of that advantage (especially in a 3D game). Infinity Blade 1 & 2 certainly bear no ill will towards the 3GS. My guess is that they didn't want to design for a 480x320 resolution.

I have the same phone and was not expecting this to be compatible due to it not being a dual-core phone.

Hoping my Transformer Prime works with it once I get it.

Chances are the hardware in the Xperia Play isn't up to snuff. Most of the devices listed sport dual core processors.

@ColorblindMonk Uh. Iphone 4?

Sorry. Xperia Play's GPU and RAM is on par with each of those, and on a spec-to-spec level, it has the Iphone 4 beat. If this game can run on a straight-up Iphone 4, then it can damn-well fly on the Xperia Play, which has the hardware edge.

This assumption that the game is limited to just dual-cores is a bit suspect. I don't buy it at the moment.

Doesn't the very essence of the gta series violate the terms that apple has for content on the app store?

@antv Not even somewhat. You've been swallowing a tremendous amount of FUD if you honestly believe that and aren't just trolling. Try actually USING the iOS App Store before blindly parroting ridiculous, incorrect assumptions from 2008 or so.

actually I'm a registered developer...so yeah according to the rules of content submission "violence toward humans" is frowned upon. apple has obviously made exceptions allowing you to kill other armed characters or non-human zombies, but running over random citizens in the gta tradition definitely seems to overstep the content submission rules. But I'm just an indie dev, so i can't throw my weight around to bend the rules in my favor.

OnLive just streams the video playback to your device, it doesn't actually render the game. This is an actual Android/iOS game, so it isn't relying on a remote system to do the processing.

Crappy controls or not, the nostalgia factor right there on my phone that I have on me at all times and the sheer impressive fact that the all of Liberty City can fit right on my phone is worth way more than the $5 asking price.
