Is the Sims still selling well? I haven't played a Sims since the Sims 2, and while it was fun, I got tired of it after a while...

@Gaddes
My wife loves Sims 3, with myself getting it out occasionally. We are rather excited about Showtime, especially with the addition of achievements.

@Gaddes Of course it is. It's got a dramatic pull with casual gamers. And I agree, that for someone with more core tastes, like myself, it tends to get boring after a while.

And yet, occasionally I'll boot it up and build a kickass house.

Yes it still sells well, to my dismay.

@Billlop Actually, that's an okay way to wear them for DJing as it allows one ear to hear the live mix (either through the house sound or a monitor in the booth) and the other to hear what he's about to mix in.

However, the look on his face, the look on some of the faces in the crowd, and the fact that he doesn't have ANYTHING to mix (turntables, CDJs, or a laptop) tells me that he's probably not very good at it regardless of how he wears the phones.

The Sims 3 has went completely down hill since the Sims 2 days, the game-play is nowhere as near as good as the Sims 2 and the with the store, EP's and stuff packs... it clear the Sims 3 is all about the money now... not to mention the bugs.

The picture loaded on my phone before the text, and I thought, "Is this going to be a DJ Hero story? Am I going to get sad all over again about how DJ Hero is gone forever?"

@Mike Kelehan

Why yes, you are going to have to get sad all over again.

To me, this is a joke, I’ll tell you why, since the release of The Sims 3, its been plauged with a glitch where the baby models get stretched out to an infinate size. Arms, legs, heads, everything just looks all freaky.

With a quick google video search you can see just how many people experiance this: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sims+3+baby+glitch&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a#q=sims+3+baby+glitch&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=5gz&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&prmd=imvnsfd&source=lnms&tbm=vid&ei=Ik7eTtm4GdKd8gOmx9DWBA&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=4&ved=0CA4Q_AUoAw&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=97473ad43bae39f1&biw=1366&bih=664

My Girlfriend used to play the game a lot and always had the glitch, we’ve tried different computers, expansions, uninstalling and everything. Even EA support were no help. It really is a joke that they continue to rinse people willing to buy expansions and not go back and fix the glitches.

@Hooded
That was fixed like two years ago for base game. The baby-stretch glitch most likely happens when you apply clothing onto a baby sim that is meant for adults. A basic glitch which occurs when you select misplaced clothing or are using custom-content on a baby.

The Sims 3 now-a-days only has rare glitches like if an object has no available customizable textures, you can't leave the Create-a-Style menu. (thus, unable to save and lose all your progress) Nothing too game-breaking. In fact, the only problem I truly experience is the amount of RAM The Sims 3 requires. (this game needs a PC Powerhouse...)

@pluupy i'm affraid it still happens, even if the baby has baby clothes, its alright once its born then just all of a sudden happens, its quite strange and it has still been happening to people after the most recent patches.

the new "expansions" are hardly that. Generations and Showtime. WTF?? where is seasons, open for business and university! so, milk away EA.

PS. I miss Maxis.

So it's basically an expansion for online functionality? Looks like if you play single player there's not a lot of justification to buy this. Unless you REALLY want to design a club, that is.
