XBLA games are the most successful on consoles, I do believe.

you might be right, but why would a 3rd party publisher gimp themselves by releasing their game on only one console?
makes no sense.

It would be more successful the more platforms it released on, I do believe. live may be "more successful" but more sales from other consumers wouldn't hurt. This is just MS up to their old tricks again.

And that is how you build a relationship between developer and publisher.

It's the shmup machine of this gen, so I guess no particular reason to mess with PS3 port. Why Sony had to make it so inconvenient for people to develop games for their console? They decided to make it cost "599,99 US dollars", too. I would be be playing Jaguar and 3DO all the time, if those were good ideas. Well, I guess PS2 wasn't any better. It had DVD drive so "woohoo", Blu-ray didn't save this time.

I'm just bitter, that the shmups are on 360, and that it has region lock, which isn't easily avoided (I think).

Red Seeds Profile was localized for 360, when it's on PS3 in Asia. I mean, c'mon. Also, Earth Defense Force 2017, Last Odyssey, Hydro Thunder: Hurricane, Virtual-On Force, Senko no Ronde... Yeah, bitter. Next gen might be last for Sony, perhaps they focus on Japanese handheld market, and allow tentacle rape and panty sniffing games to released on it, so it sells like crazy.

Personally, all i can think is "why?" I've never heard of either title, and exclusivity with a 3rd party will only last so long. They will be multiplatform eventually.

ps. Yes, I know exclusivity can be signed / bought via contract, but i doubt MS has that much vested interest in either game. :P

OH JESUS CHRIST, didn't read all the way to see that Diabolical Pitch is being published by Microsoft. Just goes to show how good (odd) of an exclusivity deal this is...

@Liquidfingers

I'm not bitter idiot. I really do wish Grasshopper luck, because they're awesome, but they really should really watch who they get in bed with. It didn't really work out for Square Enix at the start of this gen, but maybe it will for Grasshopper.

So good luck.

Weird, considering most J-Dev's are porting their Japanese 360 exclusives to PS3 due to Japan hating Microsoft and most western things. Cave and 5pb still support it, and region lock all of their titles save for a select few, just to tease us.

I'd kind of prefer a disc based option including both of these games though, I'm still fighting the digital distribution thing with all my might.

@RenegadePanda

Cave has actually been very good at localising their shumps or not region locking them if they aren't planning on localising.

Politics and money. Sad for anyone who misses out on a (hopefully) great game just because a company with deep pockets tries to monopolise it. This is why Sony need to reel in some huge name PSN exclusive games to balance it out a bit.

So it's sad that people miss out games because of exclusivity... but you hope Sony gets more exclusives.
