If it's like the last one, you'll be listening to that same music loop through 90% of the game.

@PR0F3TA Don't you know nowadays we refer to music with any element of electronic to it as "dubstep", not "techno".

nah, thats not correct..

dubstep is a sub-genre of electronically created music
techno as well... two completely different types of music

i think thats what he ment, he was being sarcastic. I listen to a lot of electronic music so when i ment "techno" i ment horrible looping music.

@(Unverified) I'm quite aware that's not dubstep. My point is that's not techno. Techno is a generic term people use to refer to any electronic music. I was hoping a sarcasm tag wasn't necessary.

Don't hate on it then. I dont't hate it on it because the gameplay and setpieces look extroadinary.

However, I still don't like the design. THAT IS NOT OUR DANTE (I don't hear "keepin it stylish!") It is like they just HAD to go all up in my house and say "FK YO' COUCH" (the couch being Dante).

Why didn't they name this game something else? No one would have freaked out. People seem to like the game..

Instead, they chose to completely rearrange a gaming icon's face.....to that one guys face (name eludes me now), just seems like a dick move on his part...

I admit that the story is pretty intriguing. I like the whole alternate limbo world/reality type of thing. The whole art style is pretty cool transitioning from regular game world to demon world.
People can hate the "reboot" and what they're doing, but it isn't going to change much at this point. What you can do is try to find something to like about the game and hope that it turns out good. Which I'm pretty hopeful of at this point.

The only real criticism I have right now is the music. I've never been a metal fan, but I never minded any previous DMC music. In fact, I've quite enjoyed a lot of soundtrack. This though.... I find the BGM to be extremely rough/annoying as it is now especially when it blatantly stopped when the fighting was finished as opposed to a smooth transition.

Yeah, the music is clearly trying to be like DMC3 and DMC4's soundtracks, but it's failing miserably.

Graphics are not everything I understand. But, I also find it lacking right now. I feel like this is a step back from DMC4 which was a really brilliant graphical piece.

If there is one thing people didn't appreciate from DMC 4 was the graphical fidelity. A lot of people take it for granted in my opinion. The character model detail and animation was ASTOUNDING, even on the consoles. DX10 on PC was even better. The only problem was the rough shadows that the engine didn't properly render.

In this, the model detail feels extremely simple and 2008-ish. And the animation as it stands is quite static as compared to DMC4. Perhaps its limitations due to the art direction they went with the whole alternate/dynamic changing worlds?

Everything you said but switch the DMC titles. I don't know what you played but DMC4's graphics weren't astounding in the least. They were pretty good, but not great among many beautiful games to date. The animations definitely look more elaborate so far in the new DMC as well. DMC4 and other DMC titles before it have all had pretty stiff, mostly standard animations. Nothing above average. I'll agree that the character models in DMC4 look as though they may have a little more detail though. That aside, the environments in the new DMC are definitely richer, more dynamic, and just more vibrant than what was presented in DMC4.

I still don't like the design for Dante, but his voice and the gameplay actually seem really great. But then, with a game like this you really have to hold the controller yourself before you can tell. If the controls are tight and there's an unlockable Classic Dante skin, all of my complaints will be resolved.

I'm okay with that, honestly. IF they don't have a 'classic' skin, I probably would not even bother with this game. White haired freakshow ftw.

@Liquidfingers I think it's a legal thing. As long as an age verification is there, they're absolved of blame when some 14 year-old boy watches a video full of drugs, nudity, swearing, and violence.

Seems really obviously scripted. There's no sense of real danger here, just a series of location-triggered, non-threatening environment changes. Uncharted does this kind of thing much better.

I was actually thinking the first part reminded me of Uncharted (if Dante were running towards the camera, instead of away!).
But, yeah, with UC3 I was definitely a lot less in suspense with every destructible environment, than when they did it before with UC2. This will probably be the same. But it looks a lot more action-y... not just "whoa, I need to grab this next ledge now!"

Everything I just saw in these two trailers felt lacking. I understand the game is still in development and the game itself could very well turn out to be amazing ... so far it just doesn't look special. I've played all the previous DMC games on PS2 & PS3 (and the entire Onimusha series) and as of right now I have some serious doubts about the games direction.

I was one of those people who protested against the re-design of Cole McGrath... but, for some reason, this new Dante doesn't really bother me.

I look forward to trying this game out sometime.
