There already is a portalbe version of Megaman X Joystiq... That said, love the art in this screen shot! Too bad it's on IOS though. Didn't somebody come out with a button attachment for the iphone? Whatever happened to that? Seems like the ideal way to play a lot of these games...

I agree, I actually like seeing X like this. I bet he'll look awesome in fully upgraded armor; though I do also believe that nobody will get to that point since nobody will be able to properly navigate the wall jumps with those controls.

There are a few, iCade, iControlPad, and Joypad which is free but it's still touchscreen controls just on a separate iOS device. They all have to be supported by the developer.

We must be looking at different screenshots, this looks awful to me, even worse than that Street Fighter 2 HD remake. In this case, looks like they got some kids to trace over the sprites, and didn't even bother having a human handle the backgrounds - some parts of it look like they just put on that horrible HQ2X filter.

I agree, this just looks like some lazy upscale with minor touch-ups.

At least something Mega Man related is being released somewhere for anything.

@SgtDookie yea.. it's not like the last MegaMan game was released in 2010 or anything, we should still complain in some way or another that there no MML3... even though MMBattle Network would do better on a new handheld now.

@Eniko I agree that there's too much complaining about Mega Man's supposed absene, but it's not just because of the cancellation of MML3. Mega Man Universe was also cancelled, and he wasn't in Marvel vs Capcom 3 despite being in the first two.

@(Unverified) Universe wasn't looking very good to be honest, it was basically like adding Little Big Planet elements to Little Big Planet 2. I honestly would've preferred Mega Man Powered Up 2. As for Mega Man not being in MvC3, its not like theres no Mega Man reps in the game. IN fact, people forget that Zero and Tron are probably two of the MOST important Mega Man characters aside from Mega Man himself, due to the fact that they are the ONLY two in the whole franchise to have their own game/s aside from Mega Man. Also, Zero is technically a Mega Man, despite not being blue.

@MJD8000 Agree, the 16-bit graphics had charm and stability, if that made sense. This kind of looks like really cheap fan-made anime.

Probably has crappy remixed tunes, which is for me, half the experience. I like my PSP remake abomination, thank you.

I'd NEVER play a Megaman X game without a shoulder button to dash (make it R)

Amen to that, brother. Tapping forward - forward just doesn't work in most situations. No shoulder button, no play.

It's really unfortunate about the on screen controls. That almost never works out well.
Looks crisp and clean though. I'd play it if it was on a device with a proper d-pad and buttons.

I beat this last month using an SNES emulator on an Android phone, using touch controla. Plays fine. Working on X2 right now using the phone's gyro for left and right movement.

@The Pork Go start with Quick Man. Now that's a challenge (level wise, Wood's a harder boss).

After playing the craptastic iPod Touch port of Mega Man 2, I say no thank you Capcom. Those graphics are f*cking terrible. Pixel graphics (sprites) beat Flash any day.

And I love the Animaniacs reference Joystiq. Best cartoon ever made.

To be honest, I don't think the redrawn character sprites look bad. The backgrounds DO, however, look like cheaply upscaled SNES backgrounds.

And the UI looks like cheap crap. Seriously.
